The presidential election just got a little more interesting. Ex-congressman Bob Barr has thrown his hat in the ring as a potential candidate for president for the Libertarian party.
I have to admit to being a little out of the loop regarding Congressman Barr. Oh, sure, I'd heard of him -- who hasn't? He's been a favorite whipping boy of the Left since the Clinton impeachment. He was singled out by that great American, Larry Flynt, who offered a reward for dirt on the congressman. Allegations were made, but, as far as I know, never proven; nevertheless, this could be an obstacle to Mr. Barr's candidacy. Oh, who am I kidding; running as a Libertarian, being ALIVE is an obstacle to electability.
What do I think about this? I wish Mr. Barr the best of luck in securing the nomination at the Libertarian convention this summer. If Mr. Barr is the Libertarian candidate, he can count on my vote; his stances on the issues, particularly on individual liberty and national defense, very closely mirror my own. He's not Ron Paul...but he's not bad. He's a billion times better than the unholy asshat trio of McCommie, 666, and {don't say his middle name or you're a racist}.
Now let's see how many "principled" conservatives will vote for him over McCommie.
Godspeed, Mr. Barr.
