That whirring sound you heard all day yesterday? That was our Founding Fathers spinning in their graves.

Far from viewing July 4th as an uplifting holiday and a cause for giving thanks to God for our blessings, I view Independence Day with mourning.

The oligarchs and special interests have effectively destroyed the work of our Founders. Need proof? Look no further than the news of Sarah Palin resigning as Governor of Alaska. The politics of personal destruction strikes again; it has become impossible for anyone resembling a human being to be part of the political process in this country. Only sub-human reptilians need apply. People (and I use the term loosely) like Il Duce, John McCommie, Vice-Hairplugs Biden, Succubus of State Hillary Clinton, Little Nancy "Air Force 3" Pelosi, Harry Reid, "Big" Dick Cheney, King George the Dim, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

Go ahead and celebrate, if you wish. But I won't be celebrating anything. Rather I'll be mourning that which we've lost.

The Axis of Stupid

We live in a time when three of the most powerful people in Washington are CFIs - Complete Idiots. Topping the list, easily I might add, is Vice President Joe Biden, the guy sitting a heartbeat away from the presidency. Coincidentally, the second person in the group is also second in the line of succession to the presidency, House Speaker Nancy "Air Force 3" Pelosi. The third person? The Senate Majority Leader, who demonstrates his own his reverse-Mensa qualifications.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid became the latest Democrat to stray into rhetorical trouble Tuesday, botching statements on three subjects in one news conference — including the fragile health of the chamber's most senior members.

Reid also mangled his party's position on the congressional news of the day, that Senate Democrats would join their House counterparts in withholding the money President Barack Obama needs to close the Guantanamo Bay prison until Obama comes up with a plan for relocating its prisoners.

But Reid went further than saying he wanted to see a plan for the money before Congress approves it. "We will never allow terrorists to be released into the United States," he said.

No one, of course, was talking about releasing terrorism suspects among the American populace. Imprisoning them, perhaps, but not releasing them.

Did the administration put Democrats in an awkward position, asking for the money before setting out how it would be spent?

"Not at all," said Reid.

"Yes," his deputy, Sen. Dick Durbin replied to the same question.

Even the post-gaffe handling of Reid's remarks was awkward. Spokesman Jim Manley, who previously worked for Kennedy for years, swept through the press gallery to clean up after his boss. He retracted Reid's assessment of Kennedy's condition. He clarified Reid's comments about the Guantanamo Bay prison.

Manley's job was no fun at that moment, a reporter observed.

"Not so much," he said.

Open mouth, insert foot.

The popular propaganda from the Left that we are force-fed ad nauseum is the canard regarding the relative intelligence of Leftist politicians vs. Conservative politicians. The Leftist politicians are "so smart, so nuanced, so deep", and the Conservative politicians are stupid Neanderthals.

Back in March, when I awarded the WotW to Nancy Pelosi for what seemed like the 3rd of 4th week in a row, I jokingly threatened to rename the award in her honor. But I can see now that there is one mightier than she in the craft of asshattery. Ladies and gentlemen, our Vice President, the Honorable Joe Biden.

Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.

According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.

The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.

What. A. Douche.

This clown divulges a CLASSIFIED location that is meant to...wait for it...SAVE HIS LIFE in the event of some kind of attack. Then, to show how completely dim-witted he is, he turns it into a gratuitous Chaney joke.

"The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn't be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall."

Hoo hoo, ha ha, that's a real knee-slapper. That Chaney sure is a dummy!

This has got to be the stupidest human being ever to hold public office. EVER! Kinda makes you nostalgic for Dan Quayle.

I pray for the President's continuing health, and I mean that most sincerely. I mean, look at the line of succession to the president: Vice President Biden, followed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. If THAT doesn't give you nightmares, nothing will.

One day after saying he wouldn't travel in tight quarters because of the swine flu scare, Vice President Joe Biden rode a train Friday from Washington to Delaware.
Known for speaking freely, Biden told NBC's "Today" show on Thursday that he had urged family members to avoid airplanes and subways for fear of contracting the H1N1 flu virus.
"I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now," Biden said.
The comments infuriated the travel industry and triggered several revisions from the Obama administration, whose official advice is less severe.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano commented, "If he could say that over again, he would say if they're feeling sick, they should stay off of public transit or confined spaces."
By Friday night, Biden seemed ready for his own do-over. A longtime rider of Amtrak, he took a train from Union Station to his Delaware home, his office said.

Good old Joe! He's gonna be a LOT of fun.

Report the truth, bear the wrath of the PC Police! Reuters found that out the hard way when they published the results of a Ziegler poll that pretty much confirmed something I've already alleged: most of those who voted for King Barack (cue choir of heavenly voices) know absolutely nothing about him.

Zogby and Zeigler have endured an excrement storm for DARING to poke their thumbs in the eye of Big Media (the BM for short) as well as to question the integrity and intelligence of those who voted for their lord and savior, Barack Obama (cue choir).

Here's the high-level results of the offending poll.

Just 2% of voters who supported Barack Obama on Election Day obtained perfect or near-perfect scores on a post election test which gauged their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.

Only 54% of Obama voters were able to answer at least half or more of the questions correctly.

Wait. Did I read that correctly? Just over half of the respondents were able to answer half of the questions? That would mean that 46% of those who voted for Obama (cue choir) were pretty much voting for the DoublePlusGoodHopeChange, and not for the actual person who represented those things.

Quoth Ziegler:

After I interviewed Obama voters on Election Day for my documentary, I had a pretty low opinion of what most of them had picked up from the media coverage of the campaign, but this poll really proves beyond any doubt the stunning level of malpractice on the part of the media in not educating the Obama portion of the voting populace.

Amen, brother! Preach it!

Obama supporters might not have known much about Obama, but they knew PLENTY about Sarah Palin and McCommie.

• Ninety-four percent of Obama voters correctly identified Palin as the candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter
  
• 86% correctly identified Palin as the candidate associated with a $150,000 wardrobe purchased by her political party
• 81% chose McCain as the candidate who was unable to identify the number of houses he owned.
  
• When asked which candidate said they could "see Russia from their house," 87% chose Palin, although the quote actually is attributed to Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey during her portrayal of Palin during the campaign.
  

Isn't that amazing?!?!? Especially in light of these numbers.

• 83% failed to correctly answer that Obama had won his first election by getting all of his opponents removed from the ballot
• 88% did not correctly associate Obama with his statement that his energy policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry
• 56% were also not able to correctly answer that Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground
• 72% did not correctly identify Biden as the candidate who had to quit a previous campaign for President because he was found to have plagiarized a speech
• 47% did not know that Biden was the one who predicted Obama would be tested by a generated international crisis during his first six months as President.
• 57% were unable to correctly answer that Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate

All Zogby did was publish the results of a poll. The questions weren't slanted in a way that would elicit a predetermined response. The questions didn't employ inflammatory language or buzzwords. They were just simple questions designed to test the knowledge of the voter.

This poll and the resultant fallout are yet more evidence of something I harped on throughout the campaign: the BM was beyond "in the tank" for their candidate. They were actively steering the result through a premeditated campaign of impugning one side while heaping adoration on the other. The fallout is also proof of another truth: if you expose facts that buck the prevailing societal 'truth', prepare for the worst, because you're gonna get it!

The Washington Post issues a disingenuous 'mea culpa'

I think I made it quite plain during the course of the election cycle that I was thoroughly disgusted with Big Media (the BM for short) and their relentless campaign to see to it that their lord and savior Barack Obama would be elected as our next president. I guess their consciences must be bothering them now that the election is over. The Washington (Com)Post has printed the first of what I believe will be many articles in which the BM admits the obvious.

The Post provided a lot of good campaign coverage, but readers have been consistently critical of the lack of probing issues coverage and what they saw as a tilt toward Democrat Barack Obama. My surveys, which ended on Election Day, show that they are right on both counts.

The op-ed page ran far more laudatory opinion pieces on Obama, 32, than on Sen. John McCain, 13. There were far more negative pieces (58) about McCain than there were about Obama (32), and Obama got the editorial board's endorsement.

Stories and photos about Obama in the news pages outnumbered those devoted to McCain.

McCain clinched the GOP nomination on March 4, and Obama won his on June 4. From then to Election Day, the tally was Obama, 626 stories, and McCain, 584. Obama was on the front page 176 times, McCain, 144 times; 41 stories featured both.

Obama was in 311 Post photos and McCain in 282. Obama led in most categories. Obama led 133 to 121 in pictures more than three columns wide, 178 to 161 in smaller pictures, and 164 to 133 in color photos.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Spare me the numbers. Where's the beef? Where's the admission that (a) you were in the tank for BOH, as your own readers decried?; (b) How many of the overwhelming number of stories on BOH were journalistic fellatio and how many of the stories on McCommie were hatchet jobs?; (c) What about the glaring difference between your handling of Sarah Palin vs. your handling of "Hairplug" Joe Biden? Ah, they're glad I asked.

One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission. However, I do not agree with those readers who thought The Post did only hatchet jobs on her. There were several good stories on her, the best on page 1 by Sally Jenkins on how Palin grew up in Alaska.

"Several" good stories on Palin. Uh huh. Don't try to sell that manure to this Vulture. I'm not buying. Your readers are right, again. You set out, like every other organ of the BM, to destroy Sarah Palin, because she doesn't worship at the shrine of abortion and isn't part of the New York-Washington elites club.

As 'mea culpas' go, this one was lame. "We sorta admit we were biased because the numbers are skewed" doesn't go far enough. The truth is the (Com)Post and most other BM fish wrappers weren't "reporting" on the election, they were trying to influence its outcome.

But that's one admission you're not going to get out of anyone in the BM.

Vulture Droppings - the VP Debate, the bailout

Vulture droppings is a semi-regular feature of this blog. It's a kind of "Random Thoughts" post in which I try to quickly summarize a particularly large event or series of events. Think of it being sort of like what a vulture leaves behind after devouring a horse. You don't get the whole horse, just highly processed leftovers.

I watched about half of the VP debate live before I had to leave the room, lest my head explode. We don't have debates in this country anymore. We have staged kabuki dances where a moderator serves up questions requiring hard answers to which the trained political artisans respond with the poliverbiage equivalent of "yo mama!", directed at their opponent. There were glimpses of answers, policy statements, really. But it was mostly "Your guy supports wife beating and legalized prostitution"-style ad hominem attacks.

Senator Hairplugs is the quintessential slick politician, foot-in-mouth-disease notwithstanding. His answers were glib, tailored for a centrist audience, and delivered without a glitch. He definitely told the Big Lie of the night with this knee-slapper:

Do I support granting same-sex benefits? Absolutely positively. Look, in an Obama-Biden administration, there will be absolutely no distinction from a constitutional standpoint or a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple.

The fact of the matter is that under the Constitution we should be granted -- same-sex couples should be able to have visitation rights in the hospitals, joint ownership of property, life insurance policies, et cetera. That's only fair.

Governor Palin was better than I expected...and I expected her to be good. That said, she also disappointed. She alternated between folksy brilliance and "Oh my God where's the duct tape so when my head explodes I'll still have a brain" recitations from the One World Elitists Handbook.

She blamed Wall Street greed for the financial crisis while failing to mention that it was the policies of the Clinton administration, which effectively held a gun to the head of lenders to force them to make more loans to people with no hope of ever replaying them (in the name of eliminating "red-lining"), that created the environment in which said crisis would occur.

I sincerely hope she was just following the McCommie campaign talking points when she called for more government involvement in the financial sector and more government action on Global Warming. She spoke as if she's a true believer in Big GW, facts be damned.

She did get off the best slam of the night, at least in the opinion of this formerly-West Coast-dwelling bird.

It's a nonsensical position that we are in when we have domestic supplies of energy all over this great land. And East Coast politicians who don't allow energy-producing states like Alaska to produce these, to tap into them, and instead we're relying on foreign countries to produce for us.

Preach it, girl!

So who won the debate. Don't ask me...I didn't have the stomach to sit through it. However, the fact that the BM (Big Media) spin machine wasn't dancing all over Sarah Palin like a downed piñata indicates to me that she won. Good on her! She remains the only factor keeping McCommie in the race, the efforts of the BM notwithstanding.

Pre-debate, one of the BM news organs, in previewing the debate, said that the debate would happen on the first day since Palin was named as the VP nominee that her approval rating among women was less than 50%. No mention, of course, of the role that the BM played in said sagging approval rating. Disingenuous bastards.

Now, on to the "there's a financial crisis, let's protect our friends!" bailout bill.

Tax breaks for wooden arrow manufacturers. Tax breaks for Hollywood(?!?!?!?!). Tax breaks for rum producers in Puerto Rico. Money for the very scumbag greedy bastards who created the effing crisis in the first place. Because, in the logic of Washington, all of this makes perfect sense.

Oh, and let's not forget additional powers for Das Überwachenden (courtesy of CNet):

The bailout bill also gives the Internal Revenue Service new authority to conduct undercover operations. It would immunize the IRS from a passel of federal laws, including permitting IRS agents to run businesses for an extended sting operation, to open their own personal bank accounts with U.S. tax dollars, and so on. (Think IRS agents posing as accountants or tax preparers and saying, "I'm not sure if that deduction is entirely legal, but it'll save you $1,000. Want to take it?")

So, where's the help for the little guy, the small businessman who can't get a line of credit because of the FUBAR banking system? HAHAHAHAHA!!!! You didn't REALLY expect anything like THAT to be in there, did you? As I've said before, these elitists don't give a rodent's hindquarters about you and I. As the ship sinks, they'll vote more and more money to themselves and their friends.

I originally thought that we were headed towards 1929 (Black Tuesday). Now I think we're headed towards 1989 (the collapse of the Soviet Union), or worse: 1789 (Bastille Day).

Yeah, I'm late...again. So sue me! It's not like anything on this blog is done according to a regimented schedule. Anyway, I'd really rather talk about last night's VP Debate (I'll get to it later today or tomorrow at the latest).

Hmmm. September. So many wieners to choose from.

Do I pick the BM (Big Media) for their over-the-top treatment of Sarah Palin? (Contrast, if you will, the "*poof* it's gone!" treatment of John Edwards, erstwhile presidential candidate, actually caught in a real scandal...heard anything about that lately? Yeah, didn't think so. Must be the 'D' after his name...).

Or what about the Chicken Littles running around proclaiming economic apocalypse if we don't hand over the economic keys of the country to the Secretary of the Treasury?

Or the so-called "conservative" commentariat (particularly the female members) lining up to kill Sarah Palin when she's the only positive thing McCommie has going for him?

No, the Wiener of the Month is John McCommie. Good Lord, how in the world can you take a "bump" like the one McCommie came out of August with, where he was actually ahead of Obama/Hairplugs in some polls, and finish September 5-9 points behind?

The problem, in the humble estimation of this carrion-loving bird, is that McStupid hid Sarah Palin under a basket for the past month because he's been cowered by the scathing media witch hunt against her. As she proved last night against Senator Hairplugs, she's a big girl and can give as good as she takes. She was the only positive he had going for him, so what's the dumbass do? He sends her back to Alaska for a month and totally tanks his momentum. Way to go, asshat!

For torpedoing his own electoral chances for fear of the BM, John McCommie is the Wiener of the Month for September.

Big Media Priorities

The news cycle spins again. Today it's the big financial panic, a most appropriate topic that touches the lives of all of us.

But there's still space on the ABC, CBS, and CNN news sites for more Palin bashing. If you want to see the absolute worst of journalistic malpractice, check out Jake Trapper's blog, Political Punch, at ABCNews.com. Good Lord, the man might as well have an "Obama/Biden '08" banner across the top of his blog. This assclown considers it major news that Sarah Palin has a tanning bed! What a tool!

Other pressing issues burning up the news include the California state budget situation, the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, tasers, baggy pants, and the usual celebrity voyeurism.

It is what it is.

But what it ISN'T is awake. For the past 6 weeks, a massacre of horrible scope and ferocity has been taking place in India. The only reason I know anything about it is because I received a newsletter from Good News India, an orphanage ministry my church supports. The newsletter can be viewed here.

Curious as to why I had missed news of a massacre of this scope and magnitude, where Christians are being slaughtered at the hands of extremist Hindi (who even knew there WAS such a thing as an extremist Hindu?), I did a Google search to check into which news outlets had reported on the massacre and when. Only one - one - news outlet had reported on the atrocity, WorldNetDaily.com. Yeah, Ardwulf, the "white supremacist-aligned, questionably-funded, hate-mongering" WorldNetDaily.

In the mean time, the "major" news outlets had plenty of time and space to report on Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, and oodles of time and space to report every piece of "damaging" minutia regarding Sarah Palin (Any word yet on Joe Biden's ties to MBNA? Just curious.), but not a second of time nor space to report on an atrocity fueled by religious hate. But it's just Christians being slaughtered in a faraway third-world shit hole, so who cares, right?

If it don't fit the script, it don't print.

And journalists wonder why they rank down with Congress, King George the Dim, used car salesmen, and ambulance chasers in the public's esteem.

Media bias? No way!

Whateverman and yodaddy think I'm a little overly-sensitive about media bias. I dunno, Joe Biden, what do you think?

[O]n ABC’s Good Morning America, Biden agreed that media coverage of Palin had been “outrageous,” “totally unfair,” and “sexist.” Biden told Robin Roberts: “The truth is some of the stuff that the press has said about -- and others have said about the governor, I think -- are outrageous.....Some of the stuff said has just been over the top, totally unfair and I think it has been sexist, and I think the way the Governor has handled it has been admirable.”

Uh huh. My sentiments exactly.

I've always been of the view that if you're going to have an opinion, you'd better be able to back it up with facts. So I spent a couple of hours today researching news stories on the vice presidential candidates. I won't pretend that I'm 100% unbiased in my scoring of those stories, but I gave it my best effort.

I didn't bother with the cheap shots from US magazine, nor the asshat columnist in New York who negatively critiqued Palin's hairstyle (and yet, I've heard not a single word about Biden's hair plugs!), nor the character assassins at the Daily Kos, the Huffing Glue Report, etc. Too easy.

Whew! I'm whipped.

Okay, if you can read all of the links here and come away with any sort of sense that Sarah Palin and Senator Hairplugs are getting equal treatment from the press, you're either an ideologue, a member of the media, or smoking crack.

The Sarah Palin wild card

Big Media (BM for short) is absolutely apoplectic. This is an outrage!

First, John McCommie chooses a VP candidate outside of their comfort zone. They do NOT like being surprised! They had already prepared their hatchet pieces on Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, and Tom Ridge. Now, because McCommie picked this...this....this OUTSIDER!....they were going to have to actually work instead of going with their preconceptions.

It didn't take long for BM to sharpen their axes and go nuts on poor Ms. Palin and family. They called her everything but a white woman. Contrast this with the even-handed to glowing reviews of Senator Hairplugs from just one week before; he was the "everyman" because he rides Amtrak. Sarah Palin? She's a psycho abusive parent because she hunts and works outside the home! Talk about hypocrisy! The people who brought us "women who don't work don't count" are now decrying a woman who works!

Oh, and let's not forget the pregnant 17-year-old daughter -- surely this is obvious proof that teaching abstinence doesn't work! (Thank God the girl isn't FLDS! She'd be forcibly ripped from her home by Stoßtruppen in armored vehicles armed with assault weapons).

It's been considerably quieter on the BM front concerning Ms. Palin today. Why? Maybe her speech yesterday has something to do with it. Now, I didn't actually see the speech; there's no way I stay up that late for anything but a 49ers game. But I read the complete speech, and I've gotta say -- she rocked it.

So now what? Is she enough to overcome McCommie's inherent unlikeability? Can she topple the Team Donkey center of gravity, Obama the mega-talented orator? Is she enough of a factor for Team Elephant to convince Americans to put the King George the Dim years behind them?

We shall see.

All I know is that they could have nominated Jesus Himself as McCommie's VP candidate and I still wouldn't vote for that tool. Sorry, Sarah!

Wiener of the Week

This week's WotW is Team Obama.

Good gravy, are these people stupid or just incompetent? They make a huge deal out of McCommie's age and "Washington insider" status for months on end, then choose as their VP candidate a guy who's only 6 years younger than McCommie and has been a Senator 14 years longer! Worse, his presence calls further attention to Obama's weaknesses in experience and foreign affairs.

Obama came out of his convention totally flat, having gained nothing in the polls. I can't remember in my lifetime a candidate who came out of their convention without some sort of "bump". This is unparalleled. And it bodes poorly for Team Donkey.

Worse still, McCommie totally stole Obama's thunder the day after the convention was over by choosing a young, pretty, and non-establishment woman as his VP candidate. Now the Biden choice starts looking worse by the minute. What more could go wrong?

The "what more" is that Team Obama started going after Governor Palin's "lack of experience". Boys, you did NOT want to go there! At least Governor Palin has filled an executive position at some point in her political career - Obama's been a Senator for about 15 minutes longer than Palin has been a Governor.

Now they're taking potshots at the Governor's 17-year-old (and pregnant) daughter. This from the people who want to teach Kindergartners about sex! They're playing with fire, and voters are going to start voicing their displeasure soon. Team Obama is rapidly setting him up for a Walter Mondull-type ass-whipping.

For running the most incompetent campaign I've seen in my 50 years, Team Obama is the Wiener of the Week.
