The circus is in town

The execrable Rep. Peter King (R-NY) is holding hearings ostensibly to discuss how the US can mitigate the terrorism threat emanating from radical Islam. This is the same Peter King who for decades was an open supporter of the terrorist organization, Sinn Fein.
A periodic perversion of America's ideals, regrettably witnessed at the U.S. Capitol, is an "investigation" in which Congress labels people as unAmerican because of ethnicity, religious belief or conviction.

Rep. Peter King, R-New York, used to defend the Irish Republican Army as a "legitimate force" and once declared: "The British government is a murder machine."

Now, as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, King is staging hearings on ""Muslim radicalization" aimed at exposing what he calls a "violent enemy from overseas . . . which is recruiting people from a community living in our country."
William Grigg details King's hypocrisy much better than I can in this meager post (see here).

Let's put this whole thing in its proper perspective. King isn't seeking a solution to radical Islam. King is seeking to stoke the fires of intolerance in order to fuel the war machine.

In my opinion it is King who should be subjected to hearings and jailed for his support of a terrorist organization. Let us not forget that the IRA was blowing innocent men, women, and children to smithereens long before Al Qaeda existed. Peter King has the blood of those innocents on his hands. It is the height of absurdity that this terrorist-supporting thug can hold hearings of this nature.

And yet, so-called "conservatives" are all gung-ho for the hearings and stand foursquare behind King. Last night on the drive home, I heard Spencer Hughes of Fox News Radio defending the hearings. He actually uttered this ridiculous line, "If you're Islamic and you're not involved in terrorist activities, you have nothing to be afraid of." Uh huh. Just like the innocents in Waco who didn't shoot at the ATF had nothing to be afraid of.

I'm becoming more convinced every day that the vast majority of "conservatives" are complete morons dancing to whatever tune Fox News is currently playing. In that aspect, they're every bit as dangerous to the survival of this country as the radical Left they so despise.

And just as stupid.

Conservatives and law enforcement

One of the things about so-called Conservatives that really chafes my bottom is their adoration for law enforcement.  Cops are all heroes who accepted a calling from God to be protectors of the citizenry.  Prosecutors are all heroes who eschewed the Siren call of lucrative jobs with prestigious law firms to fight crime and see to it that the guilty are punished.

As has been witnessed by anyone who has read more than a handful of Will Grigg's posts, the reality doesn't match the fantasy.

Prosecutors tend to be bastions of corruption, more concerned with their won-lost record than whether they've sent an innocent man to prison (because it was easy) or let a guilty man walk free (because the case was too hard to win).  On multiple occasions it has been discovered that exculpatory evidence has been hidden by prosecutors to assure the "win"! (See here for one example).  Why do they do this?  What's in it for them?  Why, they have political aspirations, of course!  A prosecutor with a tremendous won-lost record makes an excellent candidate for state or federal office.  Bastards.

Think I'm wrong?  See here, here, and here.  Again, William Grigg has MANY more examples than that.

Cops tend to be fatass bullies, quick to anger, quick to shoot those who don't react immediately to their commands.  Examples of this are legion - particularly on Will Grigg's site, but I've documented a few myself, here, here, here, and especially here.

A prime example of "quick to anger, quick to shoot" is the case of John T. Williams (H/T to Debra Farver).
The police shooting of a talented, aging Native totem carver has sparked anger and outrage in Seattle’s Native community, and beyond.

John T. Williams, long time Seattle resident and a Ditidaht member of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations of Canada’s Vancouver Island, was shot four times and killed Aug. 30 by police officer Ian D. Birk, a two-year veteran of the Seattle Police Department.

Police said Williams advanced towards Birk when the officer spotted him sitting on a ledge with a knife and shouted three commands at him to drop it.

As eyewitnesses came forward with a different version of events police then said Williams was crossing an intersection with a knife and piece of wood in his hands, refused to drop the knife and advanced towards the officer.

“His body stance did not look threatening at all,” an eyewitness told The Seattle Times. “I could only see the gentleman’s back, and he didn’t look aggressive at all. He didn’t even look up at the officer.”

Williams died between 1811 Eastlake, a private nonprofit home for chronic drinkers where he’d lived off and on, and the Pike Street Market in downtown Seattle, where he sold his carvings.

Williams was crippled with arthritis and hobbled more than he walked, Randy Lewis, a leader of the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation said. He was capable at most of turning towards the officer when he heard him shouting, to show him what he had in his hands.

That’s if he heard him shouting. Williams’ friends say he was deaf in his left ear from an infection eight years ago.
To summarize:
  • A cop orders a man walking down the street minding his own business to drop the knife he's carrying.  Never mind that the block of wood he's carrying is what's known as "a clue" as to what said person's intention is for said knife.

  • The cop doesn't get the response he desires; that is, the person in question doesn't immediately comply like a cowering sheep to John Law's demand.  He most likely didn't comply because he couldn't hear him.  This matters not one whit to the man in blue.

  • The cop shoots him 4 times.  In broad daylight.  Like a dog.
What do you think of your "hero" cop, Conservatives?  You think he's in law enforcement because he's been called by God to protect the masses?  Or is it because he's hung like a thimble and needs a license to throw his weight around, that license being the sanction of the State in the form of a badge?

Demagoging tragedy

Frankly, I don't know which sickens me more: the abhorrent mass murder committed by a sicko-psycho in Arizona that also left Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded, or the reaction to her wounding in the media.

Big Media (the BM for short) -- the same BM that demanded that we "not rush to judgment" following the Ft. Hood mass murder by a sicko-psycho -- rushed to judgment bigtime this time.  "Right-wing rhetoric" was blamed by some, an ironic claim, it turns out.  The shooter was described as "quite liberal" and a "political radical" by classmates.

Turns out when it comes to hateful rhetoric, the left doesn't fare too poorly itself.  Caribou Barbie hung in effigyIl Duce quoted as saying, "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun". Ironic.

Sarah Palin Caribou Barbie was blamed for "putting a bulls-eye on Rep. Giffords", an ironic claim, it turns out.  A Daily Kos blogger said that Giffords was "dead to me" just two days prior to the attack.  Not quite a bulls-eye, but ugly nonetheless.

Of course, Faux News came out all in defense of Caribou Barbie.  What?  You expected differently?  Regardless of where you get your news, children, you're gonna get spin.

Naturally, the Tea Party was blamed as well.  Yeah, all of that "hateful rhetoric" about sticking to the Constitution really makes folks want to kill their Congress-critter [/sarcasm].

Naturally, the Succubus of State had to weigh in, calling the shooter, "an extremist".  Takes one to know one, I suppose...

But the simple fact is that the shooter is mentally unbalanced.  How unbalanced?  Enough to where his college classmates were scared of him.

No one is blaming Caribou Barbie, or the Tea Party, or even Calvin Klein for this kook who castrated a journalist.  Not the right political angle, I suppose.

Look, it's no secret that I hate Team Donkey and Team Elephant equally.  Anyone who thinks that either of them is "the good guys" is drinking the Kool Aid.  But the partisan demagoguery on display the past two days has been nauseating.  And frankly, you have to ask, if the wounded Representative had an 'R' after her name, would there be all of this finger pointing and whining about "hateful political rhetoric"?

I think you know the answer to that question...

False rape accusation punished

On Monday I wrote a post addressing the reality of a false rape allegation being no laughing matter. I wrote that, in spite of the inherent humor in the situation described in the original story, no false criminal accusation is the least bit funny so long as our legal system is as FUBAR as it currently is.

Oh how right I was!!!

A young mother who falsely cried rape, sending an innocent man to prison for nearly four years, will experience firsthand what he suffered -- she'll spend one to three years behind bars for perjury.

"I wish her the best of luck," said William McCaffrey last night of Biurny Peguero Gonzalez.

"Jail isn't easy."

McCaffrey, 33, of The Bronx, was locked up after Gonzalez accused him of raping her at knifepoint on a Bronx street back in 2005.

It was a lie she repeated to doctors, cops, prosecutors, a grand jury and the jury that convicted McCaffrey.

"What happened in this case is one of the worst things that can possibly happen in our criminal-justice system," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon said as he pronounced sentence.
Gee, Charlie. You really think so? [/sarcasm]

In light of what has been done to him, I think William McCaffrey showed a lot of class in his comments about the heinous shrew whose lies caused him to lose four years of his life and forced him to endure an unmentionable hell in prison. Even so, there is justifiable bitterness.
A person who would "lie and paint somebody as a rapist is worse than a real rapist or a real murderer," McCaffrey said

He also blamed "the arresting officers, the prosecution." Everyone, he said, "wanted to believe the lie, the ADA [assistant district attorney] first and foremost."
My advice to Mr. McCaffrey is this: sue everybody! Sue the city. Sue the District Attorney's office. Sue the hosebag who made the false accusation against you.

The police, in their usual fashion, latched onto a suspect and made no effort to do no more than absolutely necessary in order to continue to dine at the public trough. The ADA was only concerned with getting the win once the case was referred to him. This is true of most 21st century DAs. They couldn't care less if the person they convict is guilty or not. They just want the win.

While at first glance it is something of a feel good story -- lying Jezzibel gets jail time, innocent man is to be freed -- there is still an inequality that screams for remedy. Why, in the name of all that is good, did the bitch only get sentenced to 1 to 3 years? She should have -- at a minimum -- served the same number of days in prison as Mr. McCaffrey endured. At. A. Minimum.

If the courts were concerned with eliminating false accusations of this kind (hint: they're not), they would have sentenced her to 10 years. That's what I would have done if I was the judge. We've got to make it clear to lowlifes like Ms. Gonzalez that robbing a man of his freedom is an offense every bit as heinous as violently assaulting his person.

Vulture Droppings - The Summer of Our Discontent

Vulture Droppings is a semi-regular feature of this blog. It's a kind of "Random Thoughts" post in which I try to quickly summarize a particularly large event or series of events. Think of it being sort of like what a vulture leaves behind after devouring a horse. You don't get the whole horse, just highly processed leftovers.

Aside from the good news that Congress is on vacation, there really isn't much cause to feel optimistic about the future of the good old US of A. Truly this is the Summer of our discontent. This installment of Vulture Droppings takes a look at the battle lines being drawn (and one might add, quartered) over the issue of Health Care Reform the Fascist takeover of the medical industry.
I'll say this for Il Duce, he's an ambitious son of a gun. Not content with essentially running 2 of the Big Three automakers and a large portion of the financial sector, he wants to run the medical industry as well. What would you expect from a megalomaniac with messianic delusions?

In recent weeks there has been an groundswell of opposition over Duce's takeover plot. Unfortunately, the dim-bulbs showing up at the various town hall meetings have accomplished exactly the opposite of what they set out to accomplish. By foolishly chanting and creating a disturbance, they've given the opposition a plausible talking point: that they're afraid to have people hear about the plan because it isn't what the opposition claims it is.

Look, idiots. You've given Big Media (the BM for short) their talking points - "Look! See for yourselves! The anti-health care reform crowd is a bunch of screaming lunatics." Is that what you wanted? NO! You wanted to stop this mess. So do it like adults! Show up, allow the Congresslizard to speak, then quiz them on their lies. In a measured, adult tone. Without histrionics.

Your histrionics have also had the effect of giving Congresslizards cover for avoiding town hall meetings because of "security concerns".

I don't know who is stupider - Leftists who believe in Il Duce's DoublePlusGoodHopeChange, or so-called "conservatives" who think that acting angry in front of the TV cameras is a good way of winning people over to their side.

The opposition to his grandiose plan has seriously steamed the imperious Duce. He put out a message, ostensibly to his fellow Democrats, to "Punch back harder" at the opposition. Unfortunately, the message was received loud and clear, not so much by Team Donkey, but by Union thugs, who have shown up in force at town hall meetings to bust heads.

One man on the receiving end of a busted head was Kenneth Gladney of St. Louis.
Kenneth Gladney, 38, a conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with "Don't tread on me" printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room at St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was awaiting treatment for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before Il Duce lost patience and went all Woodrow Wilson on us. Expect more of this type of thug action as Obama faces steeper opposition to his Fascist takeover.

Various members of Congress, particularly members of the so-called "leadership", have been vocal in their disdain for the opposition.

Senator Palpadine (AKA Harry Reid) had the gall to accuse those opposing the plan of trying to "sabotage" the democratic process.

Little Nancy "Air Force 3" Pelosi accused protesters of "carrying swastikas". She also teamed up with Maryland's own special kind of scumbag, Steny Hoyer, to write an editorial in USA Today essentially accusing protesters of being "un-American". That's some badge of honor, being accused of un-American activity by the likes of those two Fascists.

The Team Donkey leadership's rhetoric will only get uglier as September nears and they re-adjourn.

Naturally, the BM has been foursquare behind their Beloved Leader. You can see it in the little jabs at the protesters; calling them "teabaggers", a reference to an ugly, sexually perverted act (see this entry from the Urban Dictionary for details). I never thought in my lifetime I'd see the BM stoop so low as that.

But even when they're not engaging in perverse slams, they're engaged in bald-faced promotion of the plan.
One of the signs waved by a plan opponent said "Don't tell my gigi how to die," referring to allegations that the bill would allow senior citizens to be euthanized, something the nonpartisan group FactCheck.org said is false. Cohen also denied that the bill would pay for abortions -- another claim made by opponents.

Roger Fakes, 70, said he sat quietly during most of the meeting, but Cohen's insistence that citizens would be able to keep their private health care drove him to his feet.

He argued that changes to private insurance would force citizens into the government plan.
Here's the thing. Technically, all of those allegations deemed "false" by the writer of this story are, in fact, in the bill.

Keep cheerleading, BM. It'll catch up with you soon enough.

So what is the denouement, Mr. Vulture? How will this little adventure end?

There isn't a chance in hell of this crap legislation passing unless public opinion is swayed by the childishness of the majority of the protesters. Please, do everyone a favor - STAY HOME is you're just going to scream and act like a child!

But, what happens in the off chance that this steaming pile of legislation DOES pass? Pray for good health, my friend. Because prayer is about all you're going to have once the rationing begins.

This guy could have been our President!

That Frankenstein-looking moron John Kerry is still trying to attain relevance. It's a pity.

Kerry had this to say during hearings on the escalating violence on the Mexico-US border.

At Monday's hearing, committee Chairman Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., said he had been shocked to see killings and beheadings "just a stone's throw across the Rio Grande from where we're sitting this morning."

Across the border, thousands of Mexican soldiers patrol Ciudad Juarez, which saw about 2,000 murders in 14 months.

Kerry called for a ban on the imports of assault rifles, such as the AK-47, into the United States. (emphasis mine)
Let me break this down for you.
  1. The violence is occurring between rival drug cartels in Mexico.
  2. The AK-47 is illegal in Mexico
  3. The AK-47 is manufactured primarily in China and Russia.
  4. The primary smugglers of AK-47's into Mexico are the Chinese.
  5. What violence has spilled over the border has originated from Mexico.
  6. Full-auto AK-47s are already illegal in the US.
So...given these facts, what do YOU think of Senator Lurch's proposal?

The fact is that "make guns illegal" is the default liberal answer to every crime question. The asshats at the SF Chronicle try in vain to support the Senator's claim by citing testimony of an official from the BATF (a patently unconstitutional agency largely responsible for putting the match to the Waco powder keg back in '93). William McMahon is quoted as saying, "Assault rifles bought in the United States are favorites among cartel gunmen, who find them effective for the urban warfare." Yet the best "evidence" to support this that the Chronic could roust to support their claim was the seizure of 60 weapons used in an April 2008 shootout that were traced back to the US. I don't want to burst your bubble, Chronic, but there are certainly a lot more than 60 guns in use by the various cartels.

The fact that the weapons utilized by the drug cartels are (a) already illegal in Mexico, (b) most likely from China, (c) already illegal in the US in full-auto mode (which, one would assume, is the preferred mode of the cartel "warriors"), and (d) illegally smuggled into Mexico, not legally imported (a not-too-subtle distinction lost on the dim-witted Senator), should be cause to make a thinking man reconsider requesting a total ban on a reliable weapon that "looks menacing".

It's a pity he's not a thinking man.

And to think he could have been our President! *shudder*

If [insert candidate name] is elected...

I've become immune to it, but apparently it still works. "What?", you ask. Scare mongering, of course! I've never in my life seen anything like this. Oh wait, yes I have...just 4 short years ago! Remember how, if John "Frankenstein" Kerry were elected president, the radical Islamists would celebrate in the streets and we'd all be individually attacked by terrorists? Only King George the Dim could save us!

This go-around has had more than its share of fear mongering. Some of it is downright comical. I'll start with the anti-McCommie scare tactics (age before beauty, you know).

If McCain is elected...

  • It'll prove that this is a racist nation!
  • He'll invade Iran & Syria!
  • He'll tax your health care!
  • Corporations will:
    • Use his election as an excuse to cut commissions and overtime!
    • Stop providing health care!
    • Downsize to take advantage of tax breaks!
  • Deaths from terrorist attacks will skyrocket under McCain!
  • Women will be forced into lesser lives!
  • The US will become a 3rd-world nation!
  • He'll start a new Cold War with Russia!
  • It'll be economic suicide because he thinks the economy is sound!
  • African Americans will riot!
  • There'll be a full-fledged race and class war!
  • We'll become a deflated and depressed country!
  • Crime will soar!
  • Homelessness will increase!
  • The country will succumb to hopelessness!
  • He'll die in office and Sarah Palin will prove just how unprepared she really is!
  • He'll cut social welfare but increase corporate welfare!
  • He'll return the southwest US to Mexico!
  • He'll ruin the Supreme Court for generations with ultra right-wing appointees!
  • He'll revoke Roe v. Wade!!!
  • He'll re-institute slavery!
That last one is my personal favorite. Thanks, Whoopee, for trying to lend credence to the stupidest scare tactic yet!

Now for the other side. I actually left out a bunch of stuff I heard on the radio because I just couldn't recall the exact verbiage. There's some lulus in here.

If Obama is elected...
  • He'll destroy the Constitution!
  • The stock market will crash!
  • There'll be an international crisis! His own VP nominee says so!
  • God will smite America!
  • I'll have to quit my job because it'll be more beneficial to mooch off the government than to work!
  • The KKK will have a resurgence and will attack minority schools!
  • Taxes will go up and:
    • The rich won't have any incentive to make more money!
    • The rich will hide their money in offshore accounts, causing a depression!
    • There'll be layoffs and an unemployment nightmare!
    • People won't donate to charities any more!
  • Israel will attack Iran!
  • The cost of goods and services will rise!
  • We'll have an energy crisis of Biblical proportions!
  • The productive will pull a "John Galt" and everything will go to shit!
  • There will be a civil war!
  • There'll be a Muslim takeover and we'll all end up as Dhimmi!
  • He'll abolish the Boy Scouts!
  • You'll lose your 401(k)!
  • Affirmative action will be emphasized and there'll be quotas and fines for non-compliance!
  • Terrorists will attack us at will!
  • He'll ruin the Supreme Court for generations with ultra left-wing appointees!
  • He'll shut down talk radio and Fox News using the Fairness Doctrine!
  • He'll confiscate everyone's guns!
  • He'll surrender in Iraq!
  • He'll give us "Hillary Health" and we'll be forced to use government-provided health care.
  • His cabinet and advisers will be:
    • People like Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright!
    • Black people exclusively!
    • A dead-ringer for the old Soviet Politburo!
  • He's a Marxist! A Communist! He'll:
    • Redistribute the wealth!
    • Confiscate our property!
    • Be like Stalin and kill millions of his own people!
The "Stalin" one really made me chuckle. Now THAT'S some quality fear mongering!

Face it, people. We're screwed if McCommie gets elected. We're screwed if Obama the Savior of all mankind gets elected. The government is bankrupt, both fiscally and morally. All we can do now is wait for the inevitable implosion and hope that somewhere there are Washingtons, Jeffersons, Adamses, George Masons, and others who can rebuild this nation to it's original model.

Enjoy the election. I'm sure it'll be high drama.

Rioting....for peace?!?!?!?

Well, it looks like I'm getting my Chicago '68 after all, complete with unwashed hippy(-like) maggots and cops in riot gear busting heads. I just thought it would be for the Team Donkey convention, not the Team Elephant convention. The irony of destructive violence as part of a protest for peace apparently hasn't crossed the cerebral cortex of these reptilians.

Police said Tuesday they arrested 286 people during Monday's event. Most of the estimated 10,000 people in the march were peaceful, but small groups that police said numbered about 200 broke windows, slashed tires and harassed delegates.
Harassed delegates? How about assaulted delegates.

Look, if you want to protest, protest. It's a Constitutionally protected right. But when you resort to violence against innocent persons, you've crossed a line.

Yes, it is an unjust war. Yes, we shouldn't be there. Yes, we need to stop playing policeman for the planet. Just try to get your message across like an adult, okay?

Ron Paul did.
