Wiener of the Year - 2011

It's time for the least prestigious unknown award currently presented by the denizens of the old WWW - The Vulture's Wiener of the Year.

I received a number of nominations for WotY for 2011, including three very good ones from April Day. Each and every individual nominated is certainly deserving of derision. The list includes:

California Jim (AKA Jammin, AKA CAJim) - a troll from the execrable FLDS Texas website bigotry cauldron, who once took over this blog's comments for a full week to debate "journalistic integrity" and my lack thereof.

Gregory Prickett (AKA The Prickette, the 2010 WotY - nominated due to his ludicrous lawsuit against various blogger cohorts of mine, a lawsuit meant simply to harass, a lawsuit dismissed by a judge who saw through the pointlessness of the suit.

Former Seattle police officer Ian Birk, about whom I wrote earlier last year, for murdering in cold blood an innocent civilian. Throw in the fact that Seattle PD did NOTHING about it - no charges, no disciplinary action, N-O-T-H-I-N-G, and you have a most Wiener-worthy nominee.

The usual suspects came up as well. Il Duce. Big Media (the BM for short). Congress. The TSSA*. The inaptly named "justice" system. The Occupy movement. Team Elephant.

But this is the year when the Wiener of the Year award achieves absolute synchronicity. The 2011 WotY award winner truly IS a Weiner -- Anthony Weiner.

Weiner, a gawdawful socialist member of Congress since 1999, inadvertently sent a tweet intended for a single individual to his entire "followers" list. Ah, but this wasn't just any old tweet. This was a picture of little Anthony's, well, wiener. After claiming that his Twitter account had been hacked and trying one excuse after another for another several days, Weiner finally resigned from Congress. As I noted at the time, Weiner "pulled out" at a senior center in his District.

What makes Weiner's story even more wiener-worthy is that he is married to a smoking-hot woman who was pregnant when all of this was going on. What. A. Douchebag.

But isn't that what makes a Wiener, after all?

Heretofore, the Wiener of the Year award logo will no longer be the three strutting wieners I've used since 2007. From now on, this will be the WotY logo.
Congratulations to former Representative Anthony Weiner! You are the 2011 Wiener of the Year!

Soliciting nominees for Wiener of the Year

In two short weeks I will be naming the Wiener of the Year. As such, I am soliciting nominees for the "honor" from readers.

Among this year's candidates are Il Duce, Big Media (the BM for short), Congress, the TSSA*, the inaptly named "justice" system, the Occupy movement, Team Elephant, plus a mystery nominee I'm keeping to myself.

Feel free to add your nominees via the comments link, or email me.

Wiener of the Year

Prior to 2010 I awarded the Wiener of the Week award and the Wiener of the Month award every week/month.  I discontinued that practice this year because it constrained my flexibility with regard to subject-matter selection.  It was a decision I'm glad I made, given that the past year I've had significantly less opportunity to post than in past years.

But at the time I announced the discontinuation of the Wieners of the Week and Month, I stated that the Wiener of the Year award would still be given out to the person or persons most deserving of that dishonor.

In past years I solicited nominations for the WotY.  Not this year.  There was no need for that.  The winner (wiener?) was decided months ago.  There aren't even any candidates for the runner-up spots.  Nope, for 2010 there's just one, and he may be the most deserving recipient yet.

Ladies and gentlemen, your Wiener of the Year for 2010 is: Sgt. Gregory Prickett (hereinafter referred to as The Prickette).

It's ironic, but The Prickette is a two-time Wiener.  Last year I picked co-Wieners when I awarded the WotY to two blogs noted for their anti-FLDS bigotry.  At that time the identity of the person behind the execrable Coram Non Judice (known by regulars here as Caput Penitus Culus - Head Inside Ass) was unknown.  Thanks to the efforts of The Pharisee and others, the identity of the Caput a Palos was revealed.  Rather than bore you with the history of what transpired in the wake of that revelation, you can read up on it here.  Suffice it to say that The Prickette has paid dearly for playing lawyer and accusing innocent persons of pedophilia.

What makes The Prickette Wiener-worthy?  Let me count the ways.
  1. He shut down his blog once he was outed.   It's gone for good, deleted by its owner.  Note that The Prickette has never at any time denied that he is TxBluesMan, the sorry excuse for a human being who proudly used his purported legal "expertise" to espouse bigotry and hatred.
  2. He presented himself to his blog readers as a legal expert.  He not only isn't a lawyer, he wasn't even a real law enforcement professional (campus cop does NOT count as law enforcement).
  3. He lost his job as a campus cop.  It would be purely speculative on my part to posit a theory as to why he is no longer employed by UNT, but it is likely related to alleged misuse of university resources in furtherance of his malignant campaign of pure bigotry against the FLDS.
  4. Now that he's been "outed", his relationship with Natalie Malonis has become fodder for speculation.  I wonder how Mrs. Prickette feels about the coziness between her pompous-ass husband and Ms. Malonis.
  5. He has attempted to sue those responsible for outing him for "damages", yet, as noted earlier, he has NEVER denied being the cowardly subhuman behind Caput Penitus Culus.  Never.  Kinda hard to prove damages when the "damage" is the result of the revelation of the truth.
Face it, Prickette.  Your life is a colossal fail.  Epic.  You sat in judgment of others, flinging baseless accusations from behind the cloak of anonymity like an ape throwing feces at the zoo (a fitting mental picture of who you really are).  And you've proved to be a fraud, a loser, a nothing.

Congratulations, Prickette.  You're the Wiener of the Year.

Pictured: the Caput a Palos himself

New Year, New Approach

Being the contemplative type (read: a navel-gazer), I tend to tinker with my blog's look-and-feel with some regularity. You may have noticed the progression. Light blue heading with textured background and gray side panel. This was followed by the Dark Blue with Vulture avatar, neon green text and trim, textured Gold sidebar. This was followed by the Fall colors Red, Yellow, and Orange, with a "real" lurking vulture logo. This past weekend I changed it up again, going with Navy and White as the primary colors, with Red subtext and with Gray-Blue as the side panel color. The "real" lurking vulture logo now resides on a white background.

"BFD", you say. "Who cares about the colors and layout? It's the content I care about." Which, it turns out, is the point of this post.

I've been ruminating (read: navel-gazing) about the blog and its content. As a result, the following changes will be in place for the new year.

  • I have come to the conclusion that weekly and monthly Wiener awards is too much. I've decided to go with a single Wiener award, to be awarded on an ad-hoc basis (read: "as deserved") versus some sort of fixed schedule. Fear not: the Wiener of the Year award will live on. It's my favorite post of the year, every year.

  • I've decided to forego my habit of chronicling every 49ers game for the entire 17-week NFL season. It's too much work for me and, frankly, bores most of you. I'm contemplating some sort of 'Weekend Highlights' post, which will be in style and format very similar to my 'Vulture Droppings' posts. I'll include some sort of game reaction blurb in the 'Weekend Highlights' as opposed to a long-ass full post.

  • And speaking of 'Vulture Droppings', I plan to do more of those this year than last. It allows for a much better opportunity for analysis of the issues of the day.

  • Lastly, I vow to FINALLY complete the 'Death Knell' series on the fraud that is AGW.
If there is any sort of feature you would find interesting or topic which you would like to see given more attention, let me know. I always aim to please.

Oh, one last thing. This is DEFINITELY the year that I break free of the constraints of Blogger to create my own free-form website. Hopefully, that will be the last time that I change site format - but, knowing me, I would warn you: don't count on it.

Wiener of the Year - 2009

It's time for the least prestigious unknown award currently offered on the old WWW - The Vulture's Wiener of the Year.

I started with a list of potential nominees I considered to be quite deserving. Toes made some suggestions of her own.

My nomination for WotY is the Prezbo. Second is a 3 way tie between Pelosi-Reid-Nepolitano. Can't forget Al Gore or the Nobel Committee
All good candidates, all deserving of the dishonor.

Before I name the Wiener, I'd like to give appropriate "props" to the also-rans.
  • President Obama, Il Duce to you regulars. What an MCF of a presidency this guy has had so far! Stimulus dollars for his well-heeled buddies. The Fascist takeover of a large portion of the financial sector and 2/3 of the Big Three auto makers. Special deals for his "friends" buried in the disastrous health care reform Fascist takeover of 1/7 of the nation's economy. And let's not forget his participation in the grotesque charade that is the AGW myth. He's awful, and most deserving of a Wiener.

  • Al Gore and his sycophants who comprise Big Warming. Not even the smoking gun of the leaked emails of faux scientists actively perpetuating fraud in the service of One World Socialist Utopia (AKA Climategate) has slowed Mr. Gore and his ilk from pursuing new ways to destroy the economies of the West and bring about their desired One World government. He's deserving of a Wiener; hell, he's deserving of a Lifetime Achievement Wiener!

  • Pottawattamie County, Iowa, prosecutors. As I detailed last April, these execrable slimeballs deliberately hid exculpatory evidence that might have cleared two innocent men from prosecution for killing a police officer. For these lowlifes, winning the case took precedence over justice. They deserve to spend the same 25 years in jail that the two defendants endured. Wiener worthy? You bet!

  • Congress. Where to begin? (I believe I used those same words for last year's detailing of Congress' Wiener qualifications). Ah, the accomplishments of this Congress! Nationalization of a large percentage of our nation's financial sector. Nationalization of 2 of the Big Three automakers. Passage of Cap and Trade. Passage of health care reform the fascist takeover of 1/7 of the nation's economy, pending committee resolution of the House and Senate bills. And let's not forget H.R. 4173, the "financial reform" legislation passed by the House earlier this month, which provides for as much as $4 trillion in emergency funding the next time Wall Street crashes. God help us when these avaricious clowns are in session. Most Wiener-worthy, particularly leaders Nancy "Air Force 3" Pelosi and Harry Reid.

  • Big Media (the BM for short). These Il Duce-worshiping tools have been most successful at ignoring news that is inconvenient to his royal worship's dismantling of our economy. They've also managed to almost completely ignore Climategate. Virtually all news related to Climategate and its particulars has come from the British press. The BM should be ashamed. As I wrote last year, they are, collectively, as pompous, imperious, and out-of-touch a group of people as anyone on this planet outside of Congress. Their Wiener-cred is unchallengeable.

  • Judge Barbara Walther (last year's Wiener). She has done everything in her power to steamroll through convictions against FLDS men accused of crimes in the wake of the militaristic (and questionably Constitutional) raid on the Yearning for Zion ranch last year. She has shown her true colors as an authoritarian who wipes her ass with the Constitution. She is worthy of a Wiener, but more appropriately deserves prison time for judicial malpractice.

  • The Team Elephant establishment, who insist on marginalizing populists like Ron Paul and Sarah Palin in favor of Rockefellerite losers. There will be no two party system in this country so long as elitists run the Republican party. Wieners? You betcha.

  • The Team Donkey establishment. The party of John Kennedy, Scoop Jackson, and Hubert Humphrey is now the party of Bill Ayers, ACORN, and Nancy Pelosi. This is NOT a party interested in advancing America or American interests. They are all about establishing a One-World Socialist Utopia. The only question is whether they are more deserving of a Wiener or to be brought up on charges of treason.

  • Janet Napolitano. What a waste of oxygen! From the minute she took her position as the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHSS - you can't spell Schutzstaffel without the double S) she has been an epic fail. Her handling of the latest act of terrorism was epic in its incompetence. She needs to be fired. She's a walking example of what the Wiener award is all about.
This year's Wiener was chosen because of the harm that people like these pose to a free Constitutional republic (or, in the case of the USA, what REMAINS of a free Constitutional republic).

The 2009 Wiener of the Year is shared by two blogs: Caput Penitus Culus and FLDS Texas.

These two sites exist solely as a meeting place for bigots where they can share their bigotry in a little echo chamber.

They are openly hostile to arguments that bring their bigotry into question. They engage in the worst sort of character assassination imaginable against those whose views are different from their own. I was actually called a pedophile for simply opining on the Constitutionality of the YFZ raid!

Commenters who persist in questioning their views - particularly if those commenters match venom with venom - are banned as "trolls". There is no reaching these people with logic, reason, or even baseball bats.

So what makes them a threat to our Constitutional freedoms?

These are the very sort of people who made the Third Reich possible. They are people who are more than willing to attribute the worst sort of crimes to people different than themselves. They are people who are more than willing to see these scapegoated outsiders punished to the fullest regardless of what kind of shady actions were taken by the government to secure those convictions. All that matters to them is that the outsiders are punished (or, preferably, expelled).

They willingly sell our freedoms - particularly the 1st and 4th Amendments - just to assure that the government can "get" the outsiders. Then, as if that weren't enough, they pronounce legal justification for what has happened!

They are too caught up in their hatred and bigotry to figure out that they have imperiled anyone who is "different" in any way to be a target of voracious agents of der Staat. They're too stupid to realize that they've imperiled THEMSELVES.

You may disagree with my choice for WotY; if so, have at me via comments.

Congratulations, bastions of bigotry! You're the Wiener of the Year!

Soliciting nominees for WotY

In four days I will be naming the Wiener of the Year. As such, I am soliciting nominees for the "honor" from readers.

Currently the strong candidates are Il Duce, Big Media (the BM for short), Government Motors, Harry Reid, Nancy "Air Force 3" Pelosi, Congress, Team Elephant, Team Donkey, last year's winner Judge Barbara Walther, Big Warming (the email scandal was priceless!), plus a mystery nominee I'm keeping to myself.

Feel free to add your nominees via the comments like or email me.

PLEASE GOD LET IT BE SO!!!!!

Normally I'm the last person to favor any expansion of civil law suit limitations. All law suits do is create more ambulance chasers like Caput Penitus Culus. Believe me, the LAST thing we need is more of HIM.

But in this case, I'm foursquare behind the plaintiffs and PRAYING that they are successful in their quest.

The Supreme Court will consider whether prosecutors have to face a lawsuit from two men whose convictions for killing a retired police officer were set aside.

The justices said Monday they'll hear an appeal in the fall from former Pottawattamie County, Iowa, prosecutors.

They are being sued by Curtis W. McGhee Jr., and Terry Harrington, who were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in 1978 for the death of retired police officer John Schweer.

The men were released from prison after 25 years. Evidence showed police and prosecutors had failed to share evidence that pointed to another man as a possible suspect in Schweer's slaying. Some witnesses also recanted their testimony.
Let me be clear: the prosecutors in this case deliberately hid exculpatory evidence that might have cleared the defendants. They prosecuted two innocent men. Why would prosecutors do such a thing? That's an easy question with a horrifying answer -because, to many career prosecutors, the WIN is more important than justice. Think I'm kidding? Remember 2007 Wiener of the Year Mike Nifong?

I hope these men win the right to sue those bastard prosecutors. In fact, I hope that the floodgates are opened wide and that oxygen parasite Nifong can be sued for every last cent he has to his name. I wouldn't shed any tears if "Judge" Barbara Walther were to be sued into the poor house as well.

Perhaps if there were PERSONAL consequences to prosecutorial and judicial malfeasance, there would be less of it.

Death Knell for Anthropogenic Warming Alarmism?

Regular readers of this blog know that I'm an unbeliever. I do not believe in the Official State Religion. I do not believe in Anthropogenic Global Warming. In fact, I'm more than a denier; I'm in the camp that believes that the planet is, in fact, getting colder.

Some of you may have wondered when you read my Wiener of the Year post why there was no reference to Big Enviro or Big Warming. I mean, Big Media (the BM for short) got major mention. John McCommie got his. King George the Dim got his. Team Elephant got theirs. So...how could the Vulture have failed to mention either of the 'Bigs' whose Official State Religion he disparages?

It was entirely intentional. Starting today, and running about once a week, I'm going to be writing a series of posts in which I present the case that 2009 will be the year that Anthropogenic Global Warming is finally and decisively debunked.

Some might say that I'm a dreamer, that it can't happen, not in the face of all of the pro-State Religion propaganda being crammed down our throats. But poll after poll shows that more and more Americans and Brits are beginning to doubt the veracity of the Big Warming claims. It turns out that people with common sense can see for themselves that the overblown claims and predictions of Big Warming just don't match with reality.

So the Death Knell series begins. I hope that in presenting this series I can convince any fence-sitters out there who stumble upon these posts. And, while I'm aware that I'll never shake loose the Official State Religion True Believers, maybe I can at least have some schadenfreude at the thought of their heads exploding as I gore (pun intended) their sacred cow.

Wiener of the Year 2008

It's here! The moment you've all been waiting for -- that is, if you don't have a life.

The Wiener of the Year is the highest dishonor that can be bestowed on a person or group of people by this Vulture. A WotY is someone who has surpassed all other scoundrels and asshats during the past year. It takes a LOT of effrontery against mankind to get a WotY, trust me.

Last year's Wiener was Mike Nifong, the asshat prosecutor of the Duke lacrosse rape fiasco. His prosecutorial malfeasance was stunning in its self-delusion, not to mention the damage done to the lives of the young men railroaded by Nifong. He was head-and-shoulders beneath all other contenders.

First, I'd like to introduce the runners-up.

  • King George the Dim. This is twice that this future Wiener Hall of Fame legend has been a runner up. He received consideration based on his bailout of the auto industry against the wishes of the American people after the bailout bill was quashed by the Senate. King George proved yet again that he doesn't give a rodent's hindquarters what the Constitution says nor what the will of the American people is.
  • John McCommie. This is the guy who ran Bob Dole's 1996 campaign all over again and had the audacity (through his surrogates) to throw Sarah Palin under the bus as the scapegoat for his loss to the Media's Lord and Savior, Barack Obama. McCommie was every bit as loathsome and unpalatable a candidate as I thought he would be. And he proved to be every bit the core belief-lacking toad I always knew him to be.
  • Governor Rod Blagojevich. Holy graft and corruption, Batman! Most years this guy would be the hands-down Wiener. He is the quintessence of every stereotype of a corrupt Chicago politician. That he continues as governor and refuses to step aside even in the issue of naming BO's replacement in the Senate demonstrates the utter shamelessness of this clown.
  • Congress. Where to begin? This country club for the politically connected voted for bailout money for their rich friends when the banks and investment houses all cratered. They steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the need for energy independence, placing all of their faith in yet-to-be-developed "new technologies". They have bought in hook, line, and sinker to the Religion of Man-Made Global Warming. They continue to try to regulate every aspect of our lives. And, as the frosting on the cake, they accepted a self-awarded pay increase at the end of a year in which the economy is struggling and many Americans are unemployed or have lost their homes.
  • Texas CPS, in conjunction with Texas Stoßtruppen. I can't do the whole FLDS fiasco justice here. Details are spread throughout this blog, but the best source for information on this story is Sore Toes and a Bleeding Heart. This is one of the worst examples of Nanny State tyranny that I've seen in my lifetime. The founders were rolling in their graves as this disaster was unfolding.
  • Big Media (the BM for short). It was S-O-O-O-O tempting to make the BM this year's Wiener. The BM's behavior throughout the election in pimping for their Lord and Savior Barack Obama was beyond contemptible. Their behavior of late in inflaming Depression fears in the public is nearly as contemptible. They are, collectively, as pompous, imperious, and out-of-touch a group of people as anyone on this planet outside of Congress.
  • The Team Elephant elitist establishment. These asshats mismanaged, misread, and bungled every opportunity to reach the American people. Worse yet, their hitwomen in the so-called conservative commentariat wrote one hatchet job after another targeting Sarah Palin, the one bright spot in the entire gawd-awful election process. Team Elephant is in danger of going the way of the Whigs and the Federalists, but they're absolutely convinced that they need to be Team Donkey Lite if they want to win elections. Bye-bye, Elephants!
But those are just the runners-up. The Wiener by far surpassed each and every one of these individuals or groups. Drum roll, please! 2008's Wiener of the Year is Judge Barbara Walther.

Judge Walther is every freedom loving person's worst nightmare. She personally drove the entire FLDS debacle from her lofty position as a Texas District Judge. She was in up to her eyeballs, from the first warrants all the way until the final slapdown by the Texas Supreme Court and beyond. This reprehensible Nanny State-worshiping shrew determined in that empty head of hers that Crimes had been committed! in the FLDS compound and that she would ride in with her Stoßtruppen and save the day. Then, after the Texas Supreme Court ruled that the stolen children must be returned to their parents, she undertook a scheme to undermine the Court's ruling! The Court had to rebuke her directly to get her to finally comply with their order.

Barbara Walther is the poster child for Judicial Activism. She embodies the "I know best" ideology of the activist judge, who seeks to rule as a sort of benevolent dictator over people who had no say in their appointment to the high and lofty position they hold. She needs to be impeached. Now.

Barbara Walther, you despicable freedom-loathing shrew -- you're the Wiener of the Year for 2008!

Wiener of the Week

Whereas last week was the perfect example of a no-brainer WotW, this week is the complete opposite. There really is no clear-cut wiener. I suppose this clown will have to do.

Note to criminals: Do not lie to police about your name when your surname is tattooed on your neck.

Darnell L. Frazier, 25, did just that ... uh, well, he tried to do just that early Thursday on St. Paul's East Side.

According to the police report, an officer stopped two men walking in the street at Forest Street and Minnehaha Avenue. One was "evasive" about his identification, telling the officer he had never had a photo ID. He said his name was Darnell Lewis, spokesman Peter Panos said.

The officer, however, noticed that the man had "Frazier" tattooed on his neck.

Frazier was arrested on four misdemeanor warrants, including driving after license revocation, driving after suspension and no proof of insurance.

He also had at least two felony warrants for his arrest: a probation violation in Jackson County for bringing a stolen vehicle into Minnesota and a failure to appear in Hennepin County on a drug charge.
Being stupid isn't a crime. But it's not exactly a handy trait, especially for a criminal trying to be "evasive" about his identification.

So "Frazier", you're the Wiener of the Week.

Only two more shopping days remain before I name the Wiener of the Year. Shop early, shop often.

Corruption! In Chicago!

In what surely has to qualify as a 'dog bites man' story, the Governor of Illinois has been arrested for, among other infractions, soliciting bribes from candidates for Barack Obama's old Senate seat.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been taken into federal custody, accused of putting Barack Obama's Senate seat up to the highest bidder and attempting to shake down the Tribune Co. on the sale of Wrigley Field.

The charges also include alleged attempts by the governor to influence the Tribune editorial board, threatening, that if the Tribune didn’t support him, he wouldn’t approve the sale of Wrigley Field.

The complaint contends Blagojevich, a Democrat, threatened to withhold substantial state assistance to the Tribune Co. in connection with the sale of Wrigley to induce the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members critical of Blagojevich.

The governor is also accused of obtaining campaign contributions in exchange for official actions — in the past and recently in a push before a new state ethics law takes effect Jan. 1.
I'm so very shocked that something like this could happen in Chicago. [/sarcasm]

Apparently, part of the Governor's shakedown even involved putting the screws to King-elect Obama.
In one charge related to the appointment of a senator to replace Barack Obama, prosecutors allege that Blagojevich sought appointment for himself as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the new Obama administration, or a lucrative job with a union, in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate.
Some things never change. Pigs will wallow in their sties. Vultures will lurk, snack on tasty carrion, and soak up as much schadenfreude as possible. And Chicago politicians will wallow in shady company while perfecting the art of corruption.

Surely this guy gets some consideration for Wiener of the Year, right?

Before anyone posts a comment calling me an asshat because "the capital of Illinois is Springfield, not Chicago, dumbass!", stop now. I am fully aware of that. The Chicago connection is still there for this Governor, whose corrupt style of operation dates back to his time as a local politician in the Second City. So there!

WotY nominees

Toes has nominees for Wiener of the Year, and they're good ones.

Weiner of the Year: Angie Voss - the CPS social worker supervisor who instigated the removal of over 400 children from the YFZ Ranch in Eldorado, TX, because it was a dangerous and scary environment for children.

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695271299,00.html?pg=1
"It was a very scary environment — intimidating. I was afraid. I saw men all over. It felt like the schoolhouse was surrounded," she said, "It was a fearful kind of environment."

"I heard a report that a tank was coming on the property. Things were getting more scary to me. It was a situation of a very huge magnitude with so many law enforcement officers around," she testified. The case workers wanted to interview the children in an environment that didn't seem "so scary and dangerous."
And

http://conchovalleyhomepage.com/content/fulltext/?cid=6301
Angie Voss, CPS Supervisor, " A combination of things happened within the first two hours that caused me great concern for the children. I don't know how to describe it if you weren't there - the atmosphere and the feeling of it. It's not a place for children."
It seems unlikely that the ranch was a dangerous place for a child to live on March 28, 2008. It became a place of danger throughout the night of April 3 and ensuing days, with the appearance of untold numbers of armed Texas Rangers, an APC carrying a SWAT team with automatic weapons, SWAT snipers appointed at various places, and armed Sheriff's Deputies from at least 3 different counties entering homes, searching through personal possessions, and ordering children onto buses.

This Angie Voss is not to be confused with the good Dr. Angela Voss, Director of Kent University's Cultural Study of Cosmology and Divination Master's programme, http://www.kent.ac.uk/secl/thrs/postgraduate/cosmology/index.html
"Cosmology and Divination focuses on the modes of knowledge implicit in divinatory practices, in relation to the cosmological frameworks in which they arise."
Unless that's who the Texas Angie Voss thought she actually was, and was operating on cosmologically and divinely inspired knowledge as to which children would have abused 10 or 12 or 14 or 16 years from April 3, which women were teenagers or adults, and which women were pregnant or not.

You, of course, could expand the award to include Judge Barbara Walther, and the entire team of Texas CPS litigants and participants, with no argument from me.

My only other nominees would be Sen. Harry Reid, for just being who he is; and Sen. John McCain, for pretending to run for President.

Ta-ta

Toes
Thanks, Toes! Those are some great nominees.

Ms. Voss is a most worthy nominee. Were she not so perpetually frightened of congregated men and an environment she and her kind created with militarized representatives of Der Staat driving their tanks around frightening children (like her), the prolonged and wholly unnecessary FLDS crisis might never have developed into the gigantic MCF it ultimately became.

Judge Walther's role in said MCF is also worthy of WofY status. The woman is a disgrace. She acted in clear violation of the Constitution on numerous occasions throughout the fiasco. She ultimately got the slap down she deserved from the Texas Supreme Court, but who knows how far she would have gone were it not for the intervention by the Supremes.

Harry Reid is always a front-runner for WotY. If I gave out a prize for "best imitation of a human being by a reptile", he'd win for sure.

John McCain is looking like the frontrunner right now. I haven't made my decision yet, but you have to admit, his credentials are strong.

Keep those nominees coming, gang. There's certainly plenty of Wieners deserving WotY consideration.

Wiener of the Week

What we have here isn't your run-of-the-mill garden-variety WotW. What we have here is a candidate for the Wiener of the Year. What we have here is a candidate for the Wiener Hall of Fame (coming soon!).

AOL has pulled the plug on its AOL Pictures feature, effective 12/31. Of course, if you have a website that pulls nearly all of its pictures from AOL Pictures, you discovered, to your horror, that 12/31 means 10/31 with regards to your web pages. Yes, children, let me tell you about the swell weekend I had, courtesy of A friken O-L.

Saturday I was puttering around with my little blog and discovered, to my horror, that every last picture, background, and inset I was pulling from AOL Pictures was showing as an ugly gray box with the words "Image currently not available". As you can imagine, background images with a 'repeat-x' or 'repeat-y' option (repeat along the 'x' axis or repeat along the 'y' axis of the page) were showing MULTITUDES of ugly gray 'Image currently not available' boxes all down the screen.

I scrambled on Saturday to fix all of the image issues I could so that at least the main page one sees upon stumbling upon my little blog would be presentable. Then I spent over 12 hours on Sunday cleaning up the archives and trying to see what else was broken and where.

AOL, I'm completely done with you. This is how done with you I am. Ted Leonsis is the head of AOL and the owner of the Washington Capitals, heretofore my favorite hockey team. However, in light of this blind-side assault on your customers, I am boycotting all things AOL...including the Capitals! I'm now officially a Toronto Maple Leafs fan until such time as Ted Leonsis sells the team or makes restitution for this evil that has been perpetrated on his customers.

AOL, you suck! And you're the Wiener of the Week.

Wiener of the Week

What a week! Just when I thought Joe Biden had a mortal lock on the WotW, along comes a finalist for Wiener of the Year!

This week, in a break from tradition, I'm going to name the two runners-up who, in a normal week, would have been easy WotW wieners. This week was one of those exceptional weeks where the wieners were just too plentiful to believe.

2nd runner up - Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers. Takes a costly penalty and gets ejected BY HIS OWN HEAD COACH. Nice job, asshat!

1st runner up - Joe Biden, for his (obvious but damaging) pronouncement that Obama is going to get challenged by those outside the US because of his lack of experience. Talk about giving aid and comfort to the enemy!

The wiener - professional victim Ashley Todd, who faked a knife attack and blamed it on a black supporter of Obama.

You'll recall that last Friday, instead of a normal post, I instead did a "coming attractions" post. That was because I had originally planned to post concerning this "attack" but held back because something didn't smell right (besides my gym bag). I kept coming back to the superficial nature of the wounds and the fact that she refused medical treatment. Now, what woman in her right mind is going to refuse treatment after a real knife attack?

I kept flashing back to the Black professor who spray painted 'KKK' on his door and blamed racists, and the Jewish professor (why does it always seem to be someone associated with a university?) who painted swastikas on her car and blamed anti-semites. It just didn't smell right. I decided to give it a day to shake out before I touched it.

Now you might be saying, "Uh-huh, S-U-U-U-U-U-R-E you did!", but you have to remember that this Vulture has a most acute bullshit detector. Besides, why would I lie? I mean, just because the professors and that BFH Ashley Todd did...

For pulling a ridiculous stunt that further inflames racial tensions in this country and ultimately hurt the candidate you support, Ashley Todd, you're the Wiener of the Week.

Vulture Droppings - the second debate, voting, etc

Vulture droppings is a semi-regular feature of this blog. It's a kind of "Random Thoughts" post in which I try to quickly summarize a particularly large event or series of events. Think of it being sort of like what a vulture leaves behind after devouring a horse. You don't get the whole horse, just highly processed leftovers.

I didn't watch the second debate. Are you kidding? I only made it though about a 1/2 hour of the VP debate, and I actually like one of the two people involved in that debate. Why in the name of all that is holy would I watch a Marxist debate a Social Democrat? Particularly when the SD is so freaking unpalatable.

The debate turned out to be yet another look at the real John McCommie. He has no core beliefs. He simply supports whatever issues serve to increase his popularity. The idea that the government should buy up bad homeowner mortgages is the absolute apex of asshat non-thought. Ron Smith of WBAL in Baltimore has a saying, "That which you subsidize you get more of". By effectively subsidizing bad mortgages, McCommie would guarantee even more mortgage irresponsibility.

But if it gets him elected...why should he care?

Obama was fine, from what I read. He was also predictable. Like the good Marxist he is, Obama promised that the government would provide the sun, the moon, and the stars to every American now and forever more. The clincher: [on health care] "Well, I think it should be a right for every American". A right. Nice. And predictable.

It saddens me that the American public can't see through the sparkle of the promises to the reality of the costs. A major part of the world-wide meltdown is the debt that was run up by our government "servants" who were using goodies in an effort to buy every available vote.

These guys are engaged in an effort to "out-goodie" the other. They don't give a rat's ass about the consequences of those reckless plans that, once implemented and turned over to the bureaucrats, will result in nightmarish costs that will further exacerbate the financial crisis. If it will get them elected, they'll promise it.

The reasons I won't vote for the "lesser evil" major party candidate any more hearken back to around 2002, when I started reading Vox Day's excellent WorldNetDaily column and then started following his blog, Vox Popoli. I entered 2004 ready to hold my nose and vote to re-elect King George the Dim. By election day I was convinced that to do so would be immoral. His latest column does an excellent job of summarizing his voting philosophy. I can't do it justice with random quotes, but I do want to leave you with his last paragraph. A more succinct explanation of my position on voting cannot be found.
It would be a massive mistake for conservatives, libertarians and capitalists to continue supporting Republicans when there is clearly nothing conservative, libertarian or capitalist about the Republican Party. The Republican Party does not value freedom, it does not value capitalism, it does not abide by its republican principles and it does not honor the Constitution. Regardless of whether you vote Libertarian, Constitution Party or do not vote at all, you can be sure that your vote will not be wasted. – because, as events have proven time and time again over the last eight years, the only wasted vote is the vote that is cast for a Republican politician.
Preach it, Brother Vox!

Steve Czaban is joining the ranks of the disgruntled. In a blog entry that I couldn't BEGIN to do justice with mere excerpts, he lays out his case against McCommie.
"The Maverick" is so afraid of ruffling his pious sense of always "reaching across the aisle", he won't blast those who deserve it and make this case.

In the process he's doing incredible damage to the Team Elephant football program going forward. Remember, the "Oval Office Bowl" only comes around once every four years, and I do hate losing it.

But the coach of the winning team is given a no-cut 4 year contract for that win, and the fight for ideas is far from over. That coach has to keep recruiting, keep winning the small games, keep booster money coming into the program, and on and on.

Four years of McCain, flush with even MORE hubris as President, might just kill the Republican party as we know it. He would almost surely be the worst head coach our team ever had in my lifetime.

Even those who worry about up to 3 new Obama picked Supreme court justices should have been staggered by McCain's suggestion that he would sack Republican SEC Chairman Chris Cox and appoint Democrat Andrew Cuomo if he were President.

McCain: "Let's go find 3 more David Souters!"
Tell me again why anyone would want a McCommie presidency?

I'll leave you with this last item. This guy is the front runner as of right now for the Wiener of the Year award.
A Marianna middle-school teacher has been suspended for 10 days without pay after he wrote a racially charged interpretation of a commonly used phrase in the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.

It said, "C.H.A.N.G.E. — Come Help A (N-word) Get Elected."
OMG! Can a person really be THAT stupid? I'm telling you, he's going to be hard to beat.

*** Wiener of the Year - 2007 ***

It's time for my very first Wiener of the Year! Yea me!

This was H-A-R-D.

There were so many worthy candidates. There was the dunce tandem of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, who brought shrill anti-Americanism to new lows in their position as Majority leaders. You're utterly bankrupt as political party leaders when your whole national strategy is to hope that America loses, falters, or is in some way embarrassed. Way to go, asshats!

There was President Bush, who, if I were to award a Wiener of the Decade, would be the hands-down leader. I cannot forgive him for his cynical betrayal of conservative principals. And, though his efforts to pass "scamnasty" were certainly worthy of consideration for Wiener of the Year, the complicity of Congress in the scam somewhat negate his standing as the only traitor. Plus, his surge in Iraq DID have SOME positive effect. So he only gets second place this go-around. Give him time - there's still 2008.

But the hands-down winner is Mike Nifong, former Durham County (N.C.) prosecutor, who successfully reaped in 2007 what he sowed in 2006. Normally, the Wiener of the Year would be awarded for actions occurring during the calendar year. But Nifong's comeuppance is just too good to pass on.

Nifong's crime was the cynical misuse of his office to curry votes from the Black community for his re-election run in 2006 by throwing three white Duke University students under the bus. His suppression of key exculpatory evidence is quite easily the most egregious example of prosecutorial malfeasance of this young century. Duke's lacrosse coach lost his job, and three students were subjected to the worst kind of lynch mob persecution by Duke's PC faculty and student body, their young lives ruined. All so Nifong could be re-elected!

In 2007, Nifong got everything he deserved. He lost his position as county prosecutor. He was disbarred. He was convicted of Criminal Contempt; however, the lowlife only served one day behind bars. Too bad. He would have made a great bitch for some gang-banger.

For getting almost everything he deserved as a first-class putz, Mike Nifong is the Wiener of the Year.
