ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) apparently has the border situation under control.  It apparently has drug, weapon, and other smuggling under control.  How else can you explain this?

[T]he US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may have crossed a line -- in the midst of nabbing counterfeiters this weekend, the government organization seized the domains of a torrent meta-tracker and a trio of music sites. Today, the picture above is the only thing you'll see if you go to Torrent-Finder.com, RapGodFathers.com, Dajaz1.com or OnSmash.com, as the ICANN domain registration for the four are now in the ICE's possession, presumably on suspicion of piracy.

Copyright enforcement.  Seriously?  You're confiscating web sites -- without prior warning, without presentation of a warrant, without even Congressional mandate (the bill to provide that mandate has not yet passed Congress, and may not, based on the negative reaction of some Congressmen to ICE's heavy-handed power grab).

But you can't be bothered with border security, apparently.  Maryland is practically Quebec; signs in both English and Spanish are popping up everywhere.  If Maryland, which had approximately 14 Hispanics living in it when I moved here in 1987, has reached this point, what does that say for ICE's priorities?

It speaks volumes.  It says that ICE's priorities are the oligarchy's priorities.  That, and nothing more.

Pledge to America is lame

Nearly assured of a massive victory at the polls in November, Team Elephant did what it does best: it undermined its own chances for success.  Their chosen mode of self-immolation this election: Son of Contract With America.

This propaganda masterpiece, called  A Pledge to America, is a real head-scratcher.  There is no reference to nor acknowledgment of the Tea Party.  Why would the Elephant elites give any credit to people they both loath and seek to discredit?

A lot of slick pictures accompany the propaganda piece.  These are images meant to elicit an emotional, patriotic response from the reader.  It made me sick.

The document is divided into sections tailored at issues the elitists think are important to ordinary Americans. The promise in the preface to "honor the Constitution" and "those precepts that have been consistently ignored – particularly the Tenth Amendment", is broken right away in the Foreword, where they state that, when it comes to spending cuts, "common-sense exceptions for seniors, veterans, and our troops" will be made.  Business as usual, anyone?

Here's the worst from each section.

Section 1, Job Creation.  Job creation.  Job creation.  They still think the GOVERNMENT creates jobs.  Nevertheless, the steps they propose to take, while hardly representing job creation, do at least improve the business environment to where employers MIGHT consider hiring.

Grade: B

Section 2, Reduce the Size of Government.  The people who gave us King George the Dim's War Without End are trying to sell us reduced government spending and the size of government?  That's rich. 

They promise to "act immediately to reduce spending" (yawn).  They promise to cut government spending to "pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels".   Hey, how 'bout that? [/sarcasm]   Pre-bailout levels?  That's it?  WTF!  I think the American people -- and particularly the people who make up the Tea Parties -- want more than that.  Much more.  This "promise" is a joke.

They want to put "limits" on the growth of Government.  Limits?!?!? On growth?!?!?  Are you effin' kidding me!  A real plan would seek to reduce the size of government by at least 15% JUST FOR STARTERS.

They plan to hold weekly votes on spending. Hey, how 'bout that? [/sarcasm] And this dog and pony show will achieve what exactly? 

But it's the last "promise" that really set my teeth on edge.  "We will make the decisions that are necessary to protect our entitlement programs for today’s seniors and future generations".  You can't make this stuff up. 

Grade: F

Section 3, Health Care.  They promise "repeal and replace".  70% of Americans support repeal.  But replace? 

Part of what constitutes "replace" is to "ensure access for patients with pre-existing conditions."  I kid you not.

Grade: D-

Section 4, Reform Congress and Restore Trust.  I laughed my ass off when I read that.  Seriously?  Among the promises in this section is a promise to "adhere to the Constitution".  How, precisely, do you plan to do that AND "ensure access for patients with pre-existing conditions" AND "maintain entitlements", neither of which is Constitutionally permitted?

Grade: F

Section 5, National Security.  I can summarize this in two sentences.  Spend more money on defense systems like missile defense.  And continue the War Without End.  There is also a hollow promise to "enforce our immigration laws".  Nobody believes that.  Nobody. 

Grade: F

Section 6, Checks and Balances.  The shortest section, this is yet another attempt by the Elephant elites to sucker us.  I can sum this section up in two words: "Trust me".  The right answer -- No way!

Grade: F

There you have it.  Aren't you impressed?  Doesn't this steaming POS make you just long to rush to the polls to vote for the guy with the 'R' by his name?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll get a shower.  I feel dirty.

Bye-bye, Mexico!

You thought we had emigration problems before? You ain't seen nothin' yet!

Mexico is one of two countries that "bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse," according to a report by the U.S. Joint Forces Command on worldwide security threats.

If Mexico does indeed collapse, we'll be flooded with a wave of illegal immigrants that makes the current problem seem minuscule by comparison. And if (when?) it happens, we'll rue our utter lack of any kind of sane emigration policy. Our nightmare will be self-inflicted, and we'll deserve all of the consequences that befall us. We've had chance after chance to halt the mass migration from the South, but we've kowtowed to special interests instead.

Was it worth it for cheaper fruits and vegetables for a short 30 year run?

Honestly, the crooks in Washington can't see 5 minutes past the next election, and they don't give two hoots about the future of this nation. If they did, they wouldn't spend their time discussing meaningless hearings on the crimes of King George the Dim, or trying to bail out their rich and connected friends by dumping soon-to-be-worthless bales of money in their laps. Their actions speak louder than words. They're more interested in looting the Treasury and playing government than in protecting the interests of their country and its citizens.

It's a good thing I speak semi-fluent Spanish. I have a feeling I'm going to need it.

Wiener of the Week

This week's WotW is a repeat "wiener". RINO presidential candidate John McCain gets the nod based on his "performance" in an interview with Las Vegas Sun columnist Jon Ralston.

McCommie was asked why he had bypassed the governor and instead chosen the lieutenant governor to serve as the chairman of his Nevada campaign. After a couple of attempts to deflect the question, McCommie tried to get cute.

Maybe it's the governor's approval rating and you are running from him like you are from the president? Asked Ralston in a question McCain clearly found loaded.

Said McCain, chuckling, "And I stopped beating my wife just a couple of weeks ago."

Some have found the subject of McCain's joke -- wife-beating -- inappropriate.

Inappropriate? Ya think? You see, for every one of us who gets that it's a flip reference to the age-old political gotcha question "When did you stop beating your wife, senator?", there are hundreds of Gomers who are going to take that literally. Good job, Senator Maverick!

The second exchange, however, may be less gaffe and more "here's what I'm REALLY going to do once elected". The funny part is, the question was about Nevada sports gambling!

Despite your efforts, and I thought you were running on effectiveness, so how can it be dead?

I haven't won on every issue. I didn’t win on immigration reform, but I'll go back at it. And I'm glad I did it. (emphasis mine)

Are you kidding me? He still wants to push for amnesty after the way he got his ass kicked the last time?

You "conservatives" who think that you have to swallow your principles and vote for McCommie just because he's wearing your colors (and isn't nearly the collectivist that Obama is) need to rethink your position. If you think 20 million illegal immigrants is a problem, try 50, or 100. Because once the specter of shamnesty becomes reality, the borders will become a sea of humanity pushing to get across to catch the brass ring.

Senator McCommie, for your continuing gaffes and your love affair with shamnesty, you are the Wiener of the Week.

Commitment to enforce our borders (yeah, right!)

Just in case you were confused about whether our leaders are serious about enforcing our borders or about tracking and deporting illegal aliens, this story will clear matters up for you once and for all.

It seems that a South Carolina contractor who was fed up with losing work to unscrupulous competitors employing illegal aliens set up a one-man protest at a job site to call attention to the issue. And he was arrested...for disorderly conduct. You can't make this stuff up.

"The day I was arrested, sitting on that hot road being watched over by two police officers, I saw five illegal aliens hard at work, knowing for a fact that they would not be arrested by those two cops. … None of them had any worry in the world about being arrested because in those two cops' eyes these criminals got a free pass. But the thing is, every last one of them was breaking the law, right in front of those two cops. And the cops did nothing," he said.

Wait, it gets better.

He said he's been blacklisted by a lot of politicians and organizations for his challenge to the "system".

I'm sure he has! The politicians don't give a rat's hindquarters about him, his failing (for playing by the rules) business, you, or me. And they sure as hell don't give a rat's posterior about enforcing immigration laws, and neither, obviously, do the police. Like I said, you can't make this stuff up.
