An old adage intones, "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."
Rupert Murdoch is signaling displeasure with Team Elephant's choice of Presidential candidate.
To hear Rupert Murdoch tell it lately, Mitt Romney lacks stomach and heart. He “seems to play everything safe.” And he is not nearly as tough as he needs to be on President Obama.
Mr. Murdoch’s thoughts on the Republican presidential candidate’s prospects? “Tough O Chicago pros will be hard to beat unless he drops old friends from the team.” Chances of that? “Doubtful,” he tapped out in a Twitter message from his iPad last weekend.
Then, on Thursday, Mr. Murdoch’s flagship newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, published a blistering editorial criticizing Mr. Romney’s campaign, accusing it of being hapless and looking “confused in addition to being politically dumb.”
Mr. Murdoch has never been particularly impressed with Mr. Romney, friends and associates of both men say. The two times Mr. Romney visited the editorial board of The Journal, Mr. Murdoch did not work very hard to conceal his lack of excitement. “There was zero enthusiasm, no engagement,” said one Journal staff member who was at the most recent meeting in December.
You'll pardon me if I pause here to soak in the schadenfreude.
You see, it was Murdoch's Fox News that has served as the leading cheerleaders for Romney for the past year. It was Murdoch's Fox News that declared Romney the front-runner well before the primaries started and continued to label him the front-runner through the early primaries notwithstanding the obvious lackluster response to him from the electorate. It was Murdoch's Fox News who declared
Il Dilettante the only candidate who could defeat Obama. And it was Murdoch's Fox News that served, effectively, as Romney's unpaid propaganda machine.
NOW Rupert decides he isn't that into Romney?
NOW?!?!?!?!?
You created this situation, Rupert. You can like it, or, like the rest of us, you can lump it.
But don't try to sell us your belated regrets now. Anyone who has been paying attention ain't buying it.

Faithful reader April Day sent me this message. The subject is not my bailiwick. I usually defer to
Bill Medvecky or
Toes when it comes to CASA and CPS issues. But given that Bill doesn't seem to be signing, and Toes has seemingly fallen off the face of the Earth, I'll be happy to post on this.
Here's something you might want to address on your blog.
On June 19, Debra Brown, the wife of Judge Mike Brown of San Angelo, Texas, was sentenced to 4 years in prison from embezzling funds from the Child Advocacy Center. Her husband divorced her and she will have to pay more than $300,000 to the Child Advocacy Center.
Our friend, Bill Medvecky, discussed Debra Brown on his blog. He posted photos of Debra Brown and her girl friends from CASA in Colorado City. But Bill has ended his blog and is on vacation this month.
For further information, please read the San Angelo Standard Times.
There is schadenfreude aplenty in this news, and yet....
It's a little like Al Capone getting pinched for tax evasion instead of racketeering and murder. This disgraceful POS sub-human is going to jail where, trust me, she belongs. But she belongs there for what she and her do-goodie-good ilk have done to the children who were torn from their parents and placed in situations where they could be raped or molested or even killed, all done in the name of protecting the children but carried out, in reality, for no better reason that to protect the funding of their loathsome and predatory agencies.
Yeah, I'm glad Debra Brown is rotting in prison. I just wish it was for the right reason.

It's time for the least prestigious unknown award currently presented by the denizens of the old WWW - The Vulture's Wiener of the Year.
I received a number of nominations for WotY for 2011, including three very good ones from April Day. Each and every individual nominated is certainly deserving of derision. The list includes:
California Jim (AKA
Jammin, AKA CAJim) - a troll from the execrable FLDS Texas
website bigotry cauldron, who once took over this blog's comments for a full week to debate "journalistic integrity" and my lack thereof.
Gregory Prickett (AKA
The Prickette, the
2010 WotY - nominated due to his ludicrous lawsuit against various blogger cohorts of mine, a lawsuit meant simply to harass, a lawsuit dismissed by a judge who saw through the pointlessness of the suit.
Former Seattle police officer Ian Birk, about whom
I wrote earlier last year, for murdering in cold blood an innocent civilian. Throw in the fact that
Seattle PD did NOTHING about it - no charges, no disciplinary action, N-O-T-H-I-N-G, and you have a most Wiener-worthy nominee.
The usual suspects came up as well.
Il Duce. Big Media (the BM for short). Congress. The TSSA. The inaptly named "justice" system. The Occupy movement. Team Elephant.
But this is the year when the Wiener of the Year award achieves absolute synchronicity. The 2011 WotY award winner truly IS a Weiner -- Anthony Weiner.
Weiner, a gawdawful socialist member of Congress since 1999, inadvertently sent a tweet intended for a single individual to his entire "followers" list. Ah, but this wasn't just any old tweet. This was a picture of little Anthony's, well, wiener. After claiming that his Twitter account had been hacked and trying one excuse after another for another several days, Weiner finally resigned from Congress. As I
noted at the time, Weiner "pulled out" at a senior center in his District.
What makes Weiner's story even more wiener-worthy is that he is married to a smoking-hot woman who was pregnant when all of this was going on. What. A. Douchebag.
But isn't that what makes a Wiener, after all?
Heretofore, the Wiener of the Year award logo will no longer be the three strutting wieners I've used since 2007. From now on, this will be the WotY logo.
Congratulations to former Representative Anthony Weiner! You are the 2011 Wiener of the Year!
*------------------------------------*
*------------------------------------*
Weiner pulls out.
The schadenfreude has been beyond blissful. A creepy libtard is caught flashing his namesake. Caught lying about it. Accused of asking a former prØn star to lie for him.

Some guys just never learn. Sean Salisbury. Brett Favre. And now aptly-named Congress-critter Anthony “wanna see my” Weiner.

Anyone who has read this blog more than about 5 times knows that schadenfreude is one of my favorite things. Forget raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. I want to see despicable people suffer!
And speaking of despicable people, who among us wouldn't include the TSSA in that category.
A
Seattle area restaurant certainly does.
Fed up with what he views as crappy treatment from the TSA, the owner of a restaurant near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has decided to put all TSA agents on his No-Eat List.
"We have posted signs on our doors basically saying that they aren't allowed to come into our business," one employee tells travel journalist Christopher Elliott. "We have the right to refuse service to anyone."
She says that whenever a TSA agent attempts to dine at the restaurant, "we turn our backs and completely ignore them, and tell them to leave... Their kind aren't welcomed in our establishment."
The restaurant claims that 90% of its patrons are in agreement with their stance and that the local police have actually helped escort TSA workers off the premises.
"Until TSA agents start treating us with the respect and dignity that we deserve, then things will change for them in the private sector," says the employee.
Is that awesome, or what? "Their kind aren't welcomed in our establishment."
Let's hope more businesses pick up on this and start to do likewise. There's no one more deserving than the TSSA's goon squad. No one.

Senator
John Kerry Lurch made an appearance this past weekend. The
reception he got was the sweetest type of schadenfreude imaginable, and for all of the right reasons.
A loud and angry crowd in Northampton confronted Sen. John Kerry over his support for the war in Afghanistan, the government’s response to the recession and other issues.
Anti-war protesters interrupted Kerry numerous times Saturday as he met with constituents.
OMG, is that the best or what? Mr. Vietnam Veterans against the war. Mr. Winter Soldiers investigation. And he gets heckled for what? Supporting an unpopular war!!!
It just doesn't get any better than this. Seriously.

Yesterday I wrote about
Steven Screamin' A. Smith losing his gig as the Fox Sports Radio morning drive host. Today I wish to write about a different individual losing a different type of job.
The Pharisee reported on Monday that the
Caput a Palos, AKA TxBluesMan, AKA Sgt. Gregory Prickett, AKA The Prickette (pictured at left), has left the employ of UNT-Dallas. It is unknown at this time if he jumped or was pushed. Regardless of how or why, he is no longer employed by UNT.
I'm an empathetic person at heart, so I have a certain feeling of sadness for the
Caput a Palos. There is nothing more damaging to a man's self esteem than the loss of his employment. Most of us feel somewhat defined by our occupation ("I'm a doctor", or "I'm a lawyer", or "I'm a glorified mall cop", for example).
That stated, I have to admit to a certain
schadenfruede over the news. After all, Mr. Bigshot has wrongfully maligned me and blogger friends of mine with the vilest of accusations, and did so under cover of anonymity. That
his cover has been blown and his shady acts of cowardice exposed is a satisfaction ranking right up there with a 49ers Super Bowl victory for me.
When The Prickette was outed, he lashed out against those most prominent in the exposure of his identity by filing a
bogus lawsuit against them. The Pharisee
reported on Tuesday that the lawsuit is effectively kaput. Given that it was strictly an intimidation ploy by The Prickette all along, Hugh has
filed a criminal complaint against him. It seems that in Texas -- and pretty much nowhere else -- it is a
felony crime to engage in
Barratry - the act or practice of bringing legal action solely to harass. The complaint also details The Prickette's harassment of Hugh's daughter, an innocent bystander in this particular pissing contest.
Hey, if this is a pissing contest, has Hugh succeeded in making it halfway up the 30' pole (as compared to The Prickette's measly 2 feet)? I always suspected that The Prickette was a little...uh...lacking...in the man-plumbing department.
I hear that every time a cop gets fired a member of NWA gets his wings. Could be. All I know is there's one less goon out there busting teeth today than there was last week at this time.

It was just over one year ago that the programming geniuses at Fox Sports Radio fired long-time morning host Steve Czaban and crew.
My thoughts on the matter were, shall we say, not positive.
I simply couldn't believe that FSR would drop a successful morning drive show and replace it with
Steven Screamin' A. Smith. It was beyond counter-intuitive to me. Smith's act had gotten tired at ESPN, being that it is a one-pony trick: express an opinion, and express it more loudly than those with whom you disagree.
WHY would FSR think that he would succeed as a morning drive host?
Apparently the Screamin' A. Smith show was...how shall I put this?...
somewhat less than successful.
"Zack and Jack" will take over morning drive from 6-9 a.m. on WOFX-AM (980). The show replaces the "Stephen A. Smith Show." Smith will be moving into the roll of NBA analyst for all of Fox Sports Radio's shows. Smith's last show is Dec. 31.
One year. One solitary year. Yeah........how'd that work out for you, FSR?
Naturally,
Czaban wasn't exactly crying about this development. And who could blame him? His show ran 7 years at FSR. Seven. Now he's back on morning drive with Sporting News Radio, which XM has FINALLY added to their lineup, albeit on channel 242, WAAAAAAY out past the traffic report stations.
No matter. The story has a happy ending.
FSR dumped a popular host in search of....what exactly? That lucrative Black urban professional demographic (approximately 1% of the population)? That lucrative Black urban 18-34 demographic (approximately 4% of the population)?
In return they got one lousy year of Screamin' A., affiliate cancellations, and yet another lineup change. Meanwhile, Czaban is right back in prime time, better than ever.
Suck on it, FSR.

I have to admit that when it comes to the legal system I'm a fish out of water. The terminology. The prosaic phraseology. The BS preambles with their legal buzzwords ("hereinafter referred to as The Plaintiff", "party of the first part", etc.). The BS Latin and Latinate words and phrases ("pro se", "ad litem", "dominum dictum", "ex nihilo", etc.). Truth is, it's a foreign world to me.
But there are certain legal concepts I understand completely. '
Hot check' is one of them. And 'hot check' is the
latest development in the sorry case of
Mall Cop a Palos v. Bloggers.
When all the legal challenges to bloggers over one being classified as a “Rent-A-Cop” came out, the first place checked was the court records.
Still there today, as you can see in the image below, were the records indicating that an employee of the University of North Texas, a Gregory J. PRICKett, had evidently obtained the services of Natalie Malonis to file and PAY the fees necessary to get the process started.
Go on.
Now that you’ve seen the financial records which started the ball rolling, along with a couple more payments made by Gregory J. PRICKett to keep it headed just where he hopes it will help him the most, let’s move on to the latest under the “Events & Orders of the Court” in those records from the District Civil Court in Texass.
Ooh! Tell me more!
10/27/2010 HOT CHECK
Natalie Malonis, Attorney At Law – Refer to Acct Dept x7260
Oh how the mighty have fallen! Attorney Natalie Malonis, once a featured "expert" on the Nancy Grace Show, has now been reduced to passing bad checks on behalf of her partner in calumny, Sgt. Gregory Prickett, pictured at top, hereinafter referred to as
The Prickette, a known
hostis humani generis (you like that, pretend lawyer asshole?).
I don't need to remind you of the enmity I (and frankly, all people possessed of human decency) have toward the foul pretend lawyer behind
Coram Non Judice, ah, excuse me,
Caput Penitus Culus. That he and his
particeps criminis, Ms. Malonis, have been exposed and put in a position where they are on the defensive is extraordinarily gratifying. That Ms. Malonis is reduced to passing bad checks in the shadow of
accusations that she "misappropriated" child support payments intended for a client is absolutely....priceless.
By their fruits ye shall know them. I smell rotten apples. And Noxzema. And mall cop.

The
Modern Pharisee has done it! He not only
unmasked the execrable
Ron in Houston but now he's hit the ultimate target - the
Caput a Palos himself!
Via
Free the FLDS Children, Bill Medvecky's excellent blog:
Hugh McBryde has flushed TBM out of the woodwork, the cockroach is a rent-a-cop for the University of North Texas (UNT).
His name is Greg Prickett (What a surprise), and he and Natalie have been running around erasing all the e-mails and incriminating evidence (Also illegal) they can locate to try to thwart the on-going investigation of their criminal State and Federal violations of Law.
I REALLY wanted to keep the knowledge of his discovery quiet until the investigations were complete, but sadly, he was called by an over-zealous investigator of ours prematurely. Since the cat is now out of the bag, he’ll be happy to know that we’ve already stockpiled all the e mails and correspondence between himself, Natalie, The Banana, Lover boy and Wisan needed, and those we don’t have, can’t be erased from the net anyway.
He reports that he walks around with a gun. Be careful Greg, you don’t want to shoot your Prickett off before we send your ass to prison.
I can hardly contain my joy at the thought that this flaming asshole has finally been outed!
THIS is the guy who called
ME a wannabe lawyer? Who mocked
ME for being "just a programmer"? Who accused
ME of being a pedophile?
THIS hayseed POS? This clown who put the "prick" in "Prickett"?
He's not only NOT a lawyer, he's not even a REAL law-enforcement officer. His job is one step above Mall Cop. Worse yet, he's the kind of
nightmare cop Will Grigg writes about.
Wait. It gets better. From the comments of the referenced Medvecky post, an open letter to the Prick's employer:
Dear Mr. Price,
It is my understanding that you employ Mr. Prickett as your Chief of Security.
In view of the findings of the Appeals Court concerning his involvement in the assault of a student of the school a few years ago, I can honestly say I don’t understand the University’s continued support of this person, but that is not the main purpose of this letter.
I am here to address Mr. Prickett’s blatant use of the University’s name and his position with it, as well as his use of the Universities computers to repeatedly violate the Privacy Act with regards to HIPPA Laws, both State and Federal.
Mr. Prickett authors a site on the web entitled “Coram Non Judice”. He fancies himself a legal expert and, with the assistance of a rogue Attorney named Natalie Malonis, distributes the private, confidential Medical and Psychological Records of children and adults he opposes on his site as well as on a site entitled “FLDSTexas”.
Further, calling himself “Texas Blue’s Man” Mr. Prickett uses his position and the equipment of the University to disseminate on his and other websites what he pro-ports to be “Child porn”. They are un-redacted pictures of children which he claims are in sexually explicit poses. As you may know, presenting a picture of a child as a sexual object or in a sexual light is illegal and considered child porn even if the child is fully clothed.
In a recent letter of explanation to Wikipedia concerning his conduct, Mr. Prickett self reported that he has now taken to wearing a concealed weapon at all times.
Mr. Prickett is running around your campus and is, frankly, a lit fuse ready to explode at those he fears “Might kill me”.
What you do about Mr. Prickett is up to you, but you HAVE been advised that he is potentially a far greater liability for the University than he was in the case of the student he allowed to be assaulted by Campus Security.
We intend to bring charges against Mr. Prickett for the HIPPA violations and for attempting to portray the children of a religion he does not favor in a sexual light, as well as bringing charges against those who aid and abet him in his perverted goals.
Thank you,
W.J. Medvecky
Is this simply the greatest thing ever? If the 49ers had beaten the Seahawks 49-0 I wouldn't be as happy as I am right now. Sweet, sweet, schadenfreude!
Check it out, bigots! Your champion, your hero, your great legal mind, is nothing but a glorified Mall Cop with a bad attitude and a sociopathic need to throw his weight around. At least
Ron in Houston is
almost a lawyer,
almost a professor,
almost SOMETHING. The
Caput a Palos is a gigantic fraud.
And a colossal pussy; once he caught wind that he had been outed, he marked his execrable blog "private".
Hey Prickett! I got yer
Coram Non Judice hangin' RIGHT HERE!
Asshole.
One more thing. I went over to FLDS Texas to see what the bigots had to say about their legal hero (and, let's be honest, to poke a stick through the bars and laugh at them). Apparently
Ron in Houston (if that is, in fact, his site) is every bit the coward that the
Mall Cop a Palos is: all of my attempts to post comments were deleted.

The Modern Pharisee messaged me yesterday afternoon with the good news. His post about it can be found
here. The Salt Lake Tribune (probably grudgingly)
wrote:
The Utah Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned polygamist Warren S. Jeffs’ convictions on rape as an accomplice and sent his case back for a new trial, finding there were “serious errors” in instructions given to the jury that deprived Jeffs of a fair hearing.
The justices unanimously ruled 5th District Judge James Shumate erred when he rejected a defense request to instruct jurors that in order to convict they had to find Jeffs knew when he performed a 2001 marriage that unwanted sex would take place and intended for a rape to occur.
Unanimous. Let me repeat that so that it can sink in. The decision to vacate Jeffs' conviction was
UNANIMOUS. Unambiguously unanimous.
The wheels are falling off the witch hunt against the FLDS, it would appear. Good, says I. The whole effort on the part of the so-called "Justice" system has been driven by pure, raw bigotry, and nothing more.
It looks like the "Justice" system is running out of ways to persecute the FLDS and has effectively boxed itself into a corner. Let's hope this will result in the Texas FLDS men convicted in the aftermath of the YFZ raid being freed as well.
Continuing on the same general theme of the bigots who hate the FLDS. There was additional good news breaking just today. Flaming anti-FLDS bigot
Ron in Houston (who, I believe, is the proprietor of
FLDS Texas, the most virulently bigoted of all of the bigotry blogs) has been
outed by the Pharisee. Only one thing would make me happier: for the
Caput a Palos (TxBluesMan) to be outed.
It turns out that self-proclaimed smart guy Ron is a middling lawyer in Houston. By "middling", I'm implying that he's not very good or very reliable. Keep in mind that this is one of the people who accused me of being "not too bright".
Hey Ron! Sux when you can't call names and accuse real people of being pedophiles when you can't hide from the consequences, doesn't it.
Asshole.

Buzzfeed, a site where pretty much anything and everything and everyone is mocked (particularly Christians and Tea Party types) really doesn't play favorites. Or.......perhaps even people in the "hipster, agnostic, anti-Tea Party" crowd are sick to death of militant atheists. Either way,
this was the result.
Top 10 Reasons Atheists Suck
1. Atheists really enjoy being smarter and more rational than everyone else. Have you noticed that about Atheists? I have.
2. Atheists tend to be haters who don't believe in anything. You get excited about something cool and they are always all skeptical, asking lots of critical questions, and basically kill the positive energy.
3. They love reading Reddit.com, which is a perfectly good site, but they get all smug about how Reddit is better than other sites. Like is there some rule that if you don't worship the real God, you have to worship Reddit instead?!? WTF?
4. Atheists love to mock hard working, religious Americans who love their kids, work hard, and go to church.
5. Atheists think they are rational and scientific but isn't it more rational and open minded to say that God *might* exist? Should real scientists keep an open mind?
6. Atheists are some of the biggest trolls on the Internet. They will probably start trolling me just for writing this post.
7. Have you ever known someone who would rather be right than loved? And eventually you are like, “dude, ok, ok, you are right” but you are also thinking “what an a-hole!” That a-hole is almost certainly an atheist.
8. Atheists are the kind of people who enjoy telling small children that Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny are all fake. Thanks for ruining all the fun, atheist! I guess you think a 5 year old knowing “the truth” is more important than them having a happy childhood.
9. Atheists are selfish. Instead of praising God for good things that happen in their life, they just praise themselves. Like “wow, I really deserved that raise. Praise myself!”
10. They just suck. You don't even need a reason. It is obvious. Just accept it.
I have to add, so you know where I'm coming from, that most atheists are perfectly normal, likable people. I have no problem with them. I have no beef with them. I'm live-and-let-live. They're live-and-let live. It's those militant Richard Dawkins wannabe assholes who fit the "type" described in this list. You know, the people that
Vox Day so loves to pillory.
The amazing thing about this list is not the list itself. It's that it made Buzzfeed. Things don't just end up on Buzzfeed. They end up there because a sufficient contingent of "hipsters" think it merits the attention.
Being the consummate connoisseur of schadenfreude, I have to opine that the idea of militant atheists being subjected to increasing ridicule warms the cockles of my dark heart.
Now go say 10 "Hail Darwin"'s and contemplate the total purposelessness of your wretched existance.

Right about now Il Duce is feeling the sting of defeat. And the Vulture is enjoying the bliss that is schadenfreude. Why? Because health care legislation the forcible take-over of 1/7 of the American economy by the federal government has gone down in flames.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she lacks the votes to move the Senate's bill through the House and to Obama's desk. Under a plan backed by the White House, the new law would be followed by a separate measure making changes sought by House members, such as easing the Senate's tax on higher-cost health plans.
"
Air Force 3" lacks the votes? But...the American people demand government health care!
Il Duce said so!
The turning point? No surprise there: it was the election of Scott Brown as Senator in Massachusetts.
Pelosi, D-Calif., spoke to reporters after House Democrats held a closed-door meeting at which participants vented frustration with the Senate legislation.
Many rank-and-file Democrats said the stunning defeat in this week's Massachusetts special election — in which Republicans captured the Senate seat held for decades by the late Edward M. Kennedy — meant it was time to seek more modest health legislation.
Let me translate. Team Donkey Congresspukes saw one of their own go down in flames in the most liberal place in America outside of Berkeley, and it occurred to them that their cushy gig in Washington would surely meet a similar fate if they were caught on the wrong side of the steaming legislative turd crafted by "Air Force 3" and Harry Reid.
One vote. One special election turned the tide. Pelosi and Reid and
Il Duce were simply going to hijack 1/7 of our nation's economy, the people be damned. One vote saved us from that.
We missed this fate by the narrowest of margins (as Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by that much!"). We just missed having our very lives consigned to
Der Staat, signed, sealed, and delivered. We would have gone from citizens to property overnight.
Now is the time to ponder whether
Il Duce is a skilled politician or simply an ideologue who's in way over his head. As
I wrote prior to
Duce's inauguration, he can overreach and recover, like Clinton. Or he can overreach and expose himself as a simpleton W-A-A-A-A-Y out of his league, like Carter. Or - the worst scenario of all - he can go all Woodrow Wilson on us and unleash the deadly power of
Der Staat against its citizenry.
Interesting times. Interesting times indeed.

Next to chowing down on a dead horse, there's nothing a Vulture loves more than schadenfreude. Understand, I don't enjoy the suffering of good people. No, my schadenfreude emanates from just-desserts served piping hot to stone-cold jerks who desperately need it.
David Letterman desperately needed it.
You're probably thinking, "Vulture! This is old news! Everyone knows about Mr. Letterman and his peccadilloes by now!" Of course that would be true. But everyone might not know about this.
A former writer for David Letterman said she quit his NBC talk show in part because of alleged sexual favoritism and a hostile work environment.
Nell Scovell, writing for Vanity Fair online Tuesday, said she had no intention of filing a lawsuit and wasn't seeking revenge.
"I wanted to shine a light on gender inequality in that particular workplace," Scovell, who went on to a successful Hollywood career, said in a telephone interview.
This. Is. Awesome!
Think about it. Mr. I'm-so-much-hipper-than-everyone-else I'm-so-much-better-than-everyone-else I-support-every-liberal-cause-known-to-mankind smarmy greaseball smirking Letterman (his actual name: no wonder he goes by David) didn't just get caught with his pants down. No, Mr. Superiority Complex got caught breaking one of the cardinal rules of Liberaldom: thou shalt not create a hostile work environment!
Think back with me to the 1980's when the wave of "hostile workplace" lawsuits hit the fan. All you had to do was tell a dirty joke or tell a coworker that she looked nice and you were a target. Smug self-important asshats like Letterman were all over that stuff, pretentiously looking down their noses in condescension at the poor bastards whose lives were ruined as a result of those lawsuits.
And now Mr. Ultra-Liberal is shown for the phony he really is. He never believed in that crap! He just mouthed the words in accordance with the Liberal tradition of groupspeak. Then he went out and tried to shag as many of his own subordinates as he possibly could in the ensuing years.
Hypocrite!
Let's hope that there's no end to Mr. Letterman's suffering for the foreseeable future. It's put me in such a great mood!

This WotW writes itself, with a little help from the Wall Street Journal.
The selection of Rio de Janeiro over Chicago for the 2016 Olympics was an embarrassment for President Barack Obama, whose appearance before the International Olympic Committee was the first by a U.S. president.
Mr. Obama revved up the White House machinery to aid Chicago's Olympic bid, sending First Lady Michelle Obama and adviser Valerie Jarrett to Denmark leading a delegation that included nearly a half-dozen top administration officials. The White House announced only last week that he would join as well. The widespread perception was that he wouldn't have decided to go unless Chicago was virtually assured of a win.
But the city was cut in the first of three rounds of voting.
And the Vulture basks in the schadenfreude.
Sorry,
Duce. You can't just show up at the last minute and expect the power of your presence to overwhelm the selection committee.
Il Duce - you're the Wiener of the Week.

Those of you who aren't particularly fond of The Vulture can engage in a little bit of schadenfreude this morning, courtesy of Brett effing Fav-re.
[O]n Sunday, Favre's 32-yard touchdown pass to Greg Lewis with two seconds remaining in the game was exactly what we expect from the future Hall of Famer.
In a game in which the 49ers contained Adrian Peterson, lost Frank Gore and unleashed Vernon Davis, it was Favre that wast he difference maker in the Vikings 27-24 victory.
It was 24-20. The Niners were winning; winning ugly, to be sure, but winning nonetheless. Then that rat bastard Fav-re went to work against the prevent defense. I wasn't really worried; there were 12 seconds left when the game winning play snap occurred. Fav-re was flushed from the pocket and had to buy time; I STILL wasn't concerned. Then he threw the ball. Then it got caught.
If you heard an extremely loud cry of "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" at 4:14 EDT yesterday, that was me.
2 seconds. 2 frigging seconds! Talk about a gut punch!
It was made all the more frustrating when you stop to look at what the 49ers accomplished in just BEING in this game. "The offense", Frank Gore, went down on his first carry. Suddenly that 3rd round pick spent on Glen Coffee didn't seem so irrational (apologies to the GM).
The offense never really got it going for any extended stretch, but did enough to score on two beautiful passes from Shaun Hill to Vernon Davis, who is suddenly looking very much like a budding superstar.
Special teams both came up huge AND let us down. The blocked punt returned for a touchdown by Nate Clements (who's no longer in my dog house; apologies to Nate for having been a hater) was a very palpable momentum changing moment in the game. So, however, was the 101-yard kickoff return by rookie Percy Harvin, a wide receiver who actually signed a contract and reported to camp to help his team instead of being a diva like that bitch Michael Crabtree.
Manny Lawson had his best game since he blew up his knee two years ago. He was a beast. Justin Smith and Patrick Willis were also beasts! The entire defense played exceptionally well.
Shaun Hill overcame a dreadful start to post an extremely clutch performance. He may not look pretty, but he's a winner, pure and simple.
I am more and more impressed with Coach Singletary with each passing game. The man INSPIRES. When the team looks shaky, he simply calls time out, gives them the pep talk (or the ass chewing, whichever is required), and the next thing you know the team looks confident and capable. He makes great in-game adjustments, particularly defensive adjustments. Example: the Niners were getting KILLED in the first half by Fav-re every time they blitzed him. In the second half, the strategy changed and Fav-re didn't do squat until the prevent defense was employed.
The referees were dreadful. EJ Henderson's head was PAST THE BALL on the first snap of the game and he wasn't flagged for a neutral zone infraction. There was the pass play where Brett Fav-re was easily 2 yards past the line of scrimmage when he threw, but the line judge (the same dope who missed the Henderson offside) completely missed it; thankfully, it was overturned on review. And I will insist until the day I die that, on the game-winning catch, the receiver's toes were on the end line!
Nevertheless, this was a VERY positive showing for the Niners, the result notwithstanding. My boys stood toe-to-toe with a team that many have picked to go to the Super Bowl this year, and did it in their stadium.
Well done, lads! And, curse you, Brett Fav-re! Go retire already!

I was driving in to work Wednesday morning when I stumbled upon a most peculiar scene. How peculiar? Peculiar enough that I whipped out my cell phone and took this crummy photo to send to my friends and family. The sign, hand-lettered but fully legible from the far-left turn lane onto Gallows Road, simply read:
I cheated this is my punishment
Naturally I emailed the photo and story to all of my friends and family. Who wouldn't? I didn't think much more about it, even though it ended up making the 6 o'clock news on Channel 4 in DC. I thought it was a local story of local interest.
Not hardly! The story has gone viral! BuzzFeed featured it. BuzzFeed has an audience that approximates that of CBSNews.com and MSNBC.com, so we're talking about a LOT of people beyond the target audience of Tysons Corner commuters who saw this miserable young man pay his penance. The BuzzFeed link has a better picture of the young man - identified as William Taylor - and his sign.
I almost hesitate to name this guy as the WotW. I mean....hasn't he suffered enough? But he's earned the award, so here it is: William Taylor - you're the Wiener of the Week.

When the news broke that Senator Edward M. Kennedy died, several vodka distilleries closed shop.
Okay, cheap shot. Still, one has to feel a certain sense of mild euphoria at the thought that there's one less pompous blowhard in the world.
And cheap though my shot may be, it's far less cynical than the "official" Washington response to the Senator's death.
[W]hen members of Obama's administration questioned the president's decision to spend so much political capital on the seemingly intractable healthcare issue, Obama reportedly replied, "I promised Teddy."
Oh please! Talk about using a bigger shovel!
Ted Kennedy was a lightning rod. Liberals loved him. Conservatives and freedom loving individuals (no, they're NOT the same thing!) loathed him. Teddy was Big Government personified.
Right about now he's probably pulling up a bar stool in Hell and bellowing, "What's a guy gotta do to get a drink around he-ah! Er-ah, where's my vodka?"

Dan Rather, apparently operating under the delusion that he's still relevant, has popped up from under whatever rock he currently resides beneath to voice his opinion on the decline of Big Media (the BM for short).
Apparently he thinks someone might actually give a rat's hindquarters what he thinks about anything. He'd be wrong.
But what he said DOES have some comedic value, so I thought I'd pass it on, just for grins.
Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather called on President Barack Obama to form a White House commission to help save the press Tuesday night in an impassioned speech at the Aspen Institute.
“I personally encourage the president to establish a White House commission on public media,” the legendary newsman said.
Such a commission on media reform, Rather said, ought to make recommendations on saving journalism jobs and creating new business models to keep news organizations alive.
At stake, he argued, is the very survival of American democracy.
“A truly free and independent press is the red beating heart of democracy and freedom,” Rather said in an interview yesterday afternoon. “This is not something just for journalists to be concerned about, and the loss of jobs and the loss of newspapers, and the diminution of the American press’ traditional role of being the watchdog on power. This is something every citizen should be concerned about.”
Boo. Frickin'. Hoo.
First off, an "independent" press hasn't existed in this country for a very long time. The media is a fully-owned subsidiary of large corporations like General Electric and Disney. Second, why should anyone outside of the BM care one whit whether the current fossilized "old media" dinosaurs -- newspapers and network news -- survive? We have other options, options that don't talk down to us like we ride the short bus, options that don't whiz on our boots and and tell us it's raining.
This is typical of the Liberal mindset. If you can't make it in the competitive market on merit, government needs to step in and give you what you want anyway.
Mr. Rather, there's a reason why you're on HDNet now and not at CBS - it's because you're a lying, deceitful slug. You got what you deserved. And the BM is, ever so slowly, getting what IT deserves as well.
And I wallow in the schadenfruede...ah, sweet, sweet schedenfruede!
