Giants 17, Patriots 14

It looks like the Vulture will eat crow. Well, me and just about every sports radio talking asshat in the country. I said the Pats would win be three touchdowns; they lost by three points.

Major kudos to the Giants. Their defense was fantastic. Brady never got comfortable. Genius Bill Belicheck was unable to make the adjustments necessary to get past the swarming Giants defense.

But what was most surprising was the play of Peyton's little brother. MVP Eli Manning showed poise I would have never guessed that he possessed.

And now the waiting begins. Training camp in 6 months...go Niners!

Senate media whore smells blood

Arlen Specter (RINO-PA) is the quintessential example of a grandstanding media whore masquerading as a public servant. This asshat will call hearings at the drop of a hat, not because he's got any sort of mission to see justice served, but rather because he's got a pathological need to be in front of the cameras acting the part of society's protector.

Think I'm exaggerating? I Googled "arlen specter hearings" and got 72 hits. He's got his nose in everything from NSA surveillance to the firing of the US attorneys by Attorney General Gonzalez.

His latest windmill against which to tilt: NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell. Mr. Spectacle seems to think it's his business to stick his ugly mug into the handling of "Spygate" by the commish.

Listen, tool! The business of the US Senate is NOT to harass legitimate private business in order to get your ugly ass in front of the cameras. Yes, I know there is an antitrust exemption for the NFL TV contract, which might be construed by some as giving Congress the right to interfere. But, with so much else going wrong in the country right now, I think there are better uses for the Senate's time.

The Super Bowl

It's finally here! The big game. I know you're all dying to know where the Vulture stands. You know, my scouting report, breakdown of the key match-ups, analysis of the injuries, etc. Yeah........right.........

This may very well be the highest-rated TV program ever. It's not just that it's teams from two huge media markets. There's the Perfect Season angle - everyone wants to be able to say that they saw history, after all. And it looks like it may actually be a good, competitive game.

My prediction is as follows: the Patriots will win. They will cover the spread (12 1/2 points) because they will win by three touchdowns. And the '72 Dolphins can finally just go away. Oh that it might be so!

A reminder to all of you - the 49ers have won this game FIVE TIMES. So you can all just step aside and acknowledge the Kings of the Roman Numeral Game. Someday the 49ers, like the South, will rise again.

Wiener of the Week

This week the Wiener of the Week is John Edwards, professional candidate for president. This week he finally acknowledged the obvious and stepped down as a candidate for president.

You may have noticed that I haven't paid much attention to the Democrat side of the presidential election. That's because I consider Hillary Clinton to be the de facto candidate for Team Donkey. I think of it more as a coronation than an election this go around with the donkeys.

But you gotta hand it to the Breck girl - he gave it his best shot. He knew his only chance to win would be to run to the left of both Obama and Hillary - which means running just to the right of Vladimir Lenin, I suppose.

So why is John Edwards my Wiener of the Week? It's not like he committed some major act of asshattery. Let's just say it's because the first thing I think of when I look at John Edwards is "what a wiener!" And he was in the news. And it was a slow news week.

No one ever said this award would make sense or be consistent. What do you want? You get what you pay for...

January's Wiener of the Month

The Wiener of the Month award for January provides me with a rare opportunity for enjoyment. In addition to being able to revel in the schadenfreude of a public figure, I also get to revel in the public beat-down of the Team Elephant establishment's hand-picked candidate for president. Yes, Rudy Guiliani, you're the Wiener of the Month.

Here's the formula for blowing a double-digit lead after being anointed "the one" by the Rockefeller RINO establishment. First, don't bother to campaign in any of the early primaries. Those hayseeds in Iowa and Vermont don't count, anyway. Don't bother with Michigan, Nevada, or South Carolina, either; you're not their flavor. No, put ALL of your eggs in the basket (case) that is Florida. How'd that work out for you, Rudy?

For showing about as much sense as as a streaker in a blizzard, Rudy G. is the Wiener of the Month.

Ann Coulter knocks one out of the park

Let's face it, the polls have been bleak this week. All the tea leaves tend to indicate that we're trending towards a McCain/Clinton pick-your-poison election from hell.

What all of these so-called Republicans see in John McCommie, I can't even imagine. The guy is a pompous, me-first tool, more interested in getting favorable press from the New York Times than in having any sort of actual core beliefs.

But just when things look their darkest, Ann Coulter rides to the rescue. You've really got to follow the link and see it for yourself. I thought pompous ass Hannity was going to swallow his tongue.

Ann came right out and said it - McCommie is no conservative; and if he is the Republican nominee, she will vote for Hillary Clinton (assuming she is the nominee for Team Donkey). Here's the money quote:

If you're looking at substance rather than whether it's an R or a D after his name...If he's our candidate, then Hillary's going to be our girl, Sean, cause she's more conservative than he is. I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism. I absolutely believe that.
Game, set, match.

Her quote accomplishes three things.

First, it creates a buzz (something Ann excels at). It shines a light on McCommie and his lack of core beliefs.

Second, it focuses in on McCommie's Achilles heal; he's poison for conservatives. Take away the "I'm a pro-life war hero" angle, put him in a dress, and he's Diane Feinstein.

Third, it gets the moonbat left thinking. Now, suddenly, they're confronted with the prospect of Ann Coulter - moonbat kryptonite - supporting a candidate from Team Donkey. Is there ANYTHING more anathema to a moonbat than being on the same side of ANYTHING as Ann Coulter? I see commie heads exploding all over the Upper East Side.

Seldom, if ever, is anyone able to accomplish so much from one solitary appearance on a dreadful, third-rate scream show. Ann, you're the best!
